FYI, this is a square knot and if cut too close to the knot, it’ll come undone over time. If you do this type of knot, you’re better off leaving the tail ends and just weave them into your project ☺️ I believe it’s also called a reef knot.
@jonimaricruz1692

Exactly, first knot was a square knot; second knot was a surgeon’s knot. A real weavers’ knot is a sheet bend.

super👌
For this knot (which I believe is a square knot/reef knot) a good rule of thumb is to tie “right over left, left over right” which is just an easy way to remember where the right and left strands are supposed to go
El no haberme hecho perder mi tiempo, bien vale mi suscripción y mi like 🥰
I learned that one as a square knot when I was about 10 years old. It was taught to me by saying to myself "right over left and under and left over right and under" and then tighten. I have never never forgotten and I'm now 57 now. 😂 Just something I thought I would share as another easy way to remember but your way is great, as well.

It’s a square knot, pretty simple, left over right, then right over left, or you can do the opposite and go right over left, then left over right. You just have to cross it the opposite way you did the first time

@@1012Mrjesse The video is useful because learning a motor skill from written or verbal instructions is very difficult or even impossible for many people, like me for one. Your written instructions above only serve to remind many of us how very frustrating they are. Brains are funny things. They don't all work the same way.

Saludos
This is a simple square (or reef) knot. The surgeon's knot has an extra wrap in the first step. I wouldn't trust either one after the ends are cut. It will come apart and destroy your beautiful work. The Magic Knot has more steps, but it is much more reliable.
Excelente!

There are two knots here. The red-and-white knot is a reef or square knot (right-over-left-and-under; left-over-right-and-under; pull). There is one twist on the bottom and one twist on the top before pulling. The pink-on-pink knot is the surgeon's knot. See that there is a double twist to start with, finishing with a single one.
Obrigada

There's no way knotting silk permanently, the fibers are too smooth, so cut too short it will slip after some time if there's enough movement involved. Woolfibres become felted, that's typical for that material.
