I'm 3 months into long covid and housebound (with crushing fatigue, post-exertion malaises and brain fog). As you said in the video, there is SO much information available now. It's a bit overwhelming and it's really hard to know what to do in the early stages to avoid making things worse. The fear is terrible. I would love to have someone to talk to about this process, but I don't know where to find someone. It can be very difficult to have a positive mindset every day because this illness makes us feel so alone. It's very helpful to have reassurance throughout the process. Your videos are really awesome Raelan, thanks for sending us so much hope and love. :)

Thank you so so much for this video!!! I've just realized very recently that I have CFS, as a result of years of coping, carefully pacing myself, consulting with medical professionals, popping supplements, trying different modalities... and making excuses to others when I can't do things. I'm realizing that I had this way back in the 1980s, laying helplessly on my sofa. All these years later, I just wanted to make Christmas cookies. So I read the recipe, leaning against the kitchen counter because my legs wouldn't hold me, and suddenly busting out crying in despair. I'm elderly now, and it's been a very long haul. Often I've just wanted to die; it would be so much easier; but I don't want to abandon my sweet husband. Finding you folks is giving me so much hope! And this particular video is precious, helping us with discriminating, saving our energy, and getting to the real healing process. I'll keep learning and applying the suggestions. Thank you for a much needed shot of empowerment!

Kathleen I was touched by your words. You’ve held on through so much with tenacity and love. May you keep hold of that precious hope! I hope you can at last find a GP/Primary Care doc who has some insight into your condition or who will perhaps refer you for assessment after all these years? Have you a friend or maybe your husband whom you’d consider taking with you to an appointment? When you described your difficulty standing I wondered if you’ve ever been assessed for POTS that often accompanies ME/CFS, or other causes for the debilitating exhaustion? Even a diagnosis is a help, not that CFS is a diagnosis anyone would want, but it’s a start! As someone in my autumn years and 31 years with ME I’ve been telling myself that maybe ageing will be easier for folks like us than our peers. After all we’ve had decades of feeling like 100 so it won’t be as much of a shock! Hey maybe with our healing potential we’ll come into our own and take off into our prime! Sending every good wish for all that lies ahead ✨

Uff da! I still struggle with balancing "healthy control." I am an overdoer, tend to carry an excessively heavy mental load, want to do everything at once while fighting being sort of frozen, and have the high H form of ADHD. This video popped up in my suggestions at a perfect time - between semesters, I want to make up for all the stuff I had to let go in order to have energy to keep my university teaching job. Yes, this is a great reminder. And I think my GI stuff has settled enough that I can focus on food again in a relatively normal way. The ulcers have healed. My appetite is normal again.

Raelan, from time to time I tune in to your channel to hear what you have to say and the reason is you are not trying to sell anything or rip anyone off like so many sites do, I agree do not outsource your recovery because most have no idea what they are doing. ME/CFS sufferers need to identify the cause of their illness before they can develop a plan but the problem is we become desperate and will try anything. I have spent over $17,000 (I just stopped counting at $17,000) and have little to show for it. I have had this condition for at least 30 years and am now finally starting to make progress but do have set backs which I have identified. Over the years I have identified at least eight different causes some of which are very surprising. Just trying to overcome the latest set back, although I know the cause, is proving difficult. Also I agree with the idea of a health coach as you really someone to lean on. I do intend to make a video on the subject but it will take a while because of the current set back. I am not going to go into what I have learned here as it takes far too long to explain but one thing I have learned is that I have no confidence in mainstream medicine, I was just told to live with it.

I had a Qi Gong teacher that always said all healing starts from with. I believe that. However, a lot of people on this path do not believe it whole heartedly. For them it may be best to have an adjunct to there “basic recovery”. Nonetheless, I appreciate your effort to help people see the power they hold within.

I've had long covid symptoms for 10 months (head fog, memory loss, CFS type malaise/tiredness, weakness, cold sensations from the waist down especially the feet, as well as anxiety, lack of motivation and I'd say a mild depression as a result. I felt stuck. I had tried so many things will little results. Acupuncture worked for a hour at most, supplements such a alpha lipoic acid and a few others only kept if from getting worse. One day just before thanksgiving, a link popped up for a 3 day fast by a Dr Sung, and I'm like "Hmmmmmmmmmmmm" To cut a long story short. It's been two weeks since the fast and I feel 20 years younger. I have so much energy and focus now. The only symptoms remaining are the feet coldness but that feels slightly better and hopefully will improve over time. I was close to losing hope I'd ever feel better. And I am loving your posts Raelan, keep them up!!!

Otherwise our systems are very possibly not steady and stable enough to receive the wonderful benefits of the other healing approaches. @@briechilli4496 yes I did unfortunately, for about 7 months. I only slept some nights out of exhaustion. I am on slow releases Melatonin, however, I only found that mildly effective for going to sleep. I kept waking suddenly with a jolt/startle about 3am and I would be wired. A few fellow sufferers recommended 1-2 Zyrtec before I went to sleep. This stopped the sudden wakings. LC is a weird thing, what works for one person doesn't for another. Insomnia is cruel, I hope you find something that helps, it is incredibly hard to recover without decent sleep. I only have trouble sleeping very occasionally and when I forget to take zyrtec. Another thing I love in helping me relax is one of those spike mats (acupuncture mats). I lie it on my pillow and bed, so I feel it on the back of my neck and upper back. I have fallen asleep on this several times.
