I Have 15 year Old Labs that are brothers and only 2 in final litter of legends . One Black One Brown ... Cork and Kerry.... this collapsing esophagus it seems will be why they go and they got it the same time progressed the same, its just become obviously worse, but this elderberry concoction is taking the edge off big time. Name of cough syrup? Who makes it and is it available where? I did the honey and drops pure lemon juice I leave in her drinking water. I really believe she knows this helps her when she goes into coughing episodes. I also use honey/lemon for my copd (ex smoker) . along with other herbs. Keep up the good work Dr.

My toy poodle also has persistent coughing the vet can't diagnose. Did it work for you?

My Westie x gets a loud hacking cough once or twice a year. Licorice root powder in melted coconut oil soothes his cough and it's usually gone within a day or two.

How often should we give and for how long?

My Jack Russell has chronic bronchitis. He uses a Flixotide puffer now. He was on prednisone for a couple of years but I have weaned him off that. This would be a good option for his cough?

My 10 year old female pit bull has had that cough for 2 months now. The vet did a blood draw on her and there was nothing outstanding. He didn’t feel the need for an X-ray and she is up to date on her shots. She has hacked up thick light brown mucous and I feel terrible. I just started to give her the elderberry syrup today after watching your video. How often should I dose her? I’m giving her 1tbs since she is 55lbs. Also could mucinex be given to dogs? All of that phlegm needs to go

If anyone can answer this I'll be grateful: I'm using Vet Wothy Kennel Cough Droplets for my dog, and it's very hard to put the drops in her mouth. Does it work the same if I put the drops on food, or must it be ingested directly through the mouth/tongue?

Thank you Dr. Jones, we were able to get this for our 14 year old , cause she has collapse trachea and it definitely helps with her coughing omg, we’re so happy to have come across your vlog, we did the honey and lemon but it gave her a looser stool we had to stop it. Hubby was able to locate The Suro and she gets a small dosage like twice a day. We’ve seen in almost a month now that she’s been on it her playfulness has come back to her, she’s a jack Russell terrier mix/Boston Terrier she still has a cough but not as consistent like it was in the past 3 months. So glad to hear Suro has helped your dog!! I too give the infant/children’s formula to my dog who was diagnosed with a collapsing trachea this past winter. He’s a 12 year old Shih Tzu, he’ll be 13 in June. 💙 It’s amazing how quickly the syrup works and I feel like it really soothes the irritation. I hope your dog continues to do well. We have the bee pollen and propolis to add to their home prepared meals, which is helping a lot. Quercitin and L-Lysine for the tougher cases. Oh wow thanks for this info. My dog Billie Holiday has been having a cough for years (likely collapsed trachea) that has progressively gotten worse. Especially after she drinks. Lots of Vet visits and many meds later, last week she given Theophylline, which doesn’t prevent the cough, just makes the cough less severe. Hoping to stop it completely. I just bought the Pulsatilla you suggested on a another video but need to know if I can give her the Pulsatilla with the Theophylline. I will definitely try this syrup too.

Dr Jones thank you so much for responding to my question on the cruciate ligament rupture post. I humbly apologize for asking more questions. But I was wondering about the reason you thought a brace wouldn't be a good idea for my small dog. Right now he still tries to use his injured leg. He is looking a bit better but every time he tries to run on it it starts to shake like it's still hurting him. I'm trying to confine him to a small spaces to get him to rest and let it heal. I will definitely look into the supplements you suggested. Just wanted to get an idea why you thought of brace wouldn't be a good idea. Hi my 13yr old Poodle over the past two winters in NZ has started this dry cough, it looks like she is trying to bring something up but there is nothing. She lives in a non smoking house and environmentally friendly home. Renee's hearing has diminished over the past few years but can hear high pitched noises which now give her a fright. Her eye's are getting the milky look but can still manage to watch TV and see any cats or dogs that appear on TV and bark to her delight. The coughing only happens when she has run after her ball which she still has a lot of energy to do but only a few times now and gets to her ball and stops to have the cough, picks up the ball and returns but ducks off into the house and coughs some more. I have had Poodles since I was 8 yrs and not come across this before. The first Poodle I had was in OZ and she lived to a great age of 19yrs I have lost Renee's older non biological sister Satine over 3 yrs ago now, due to medical complications. Renee still has a lot of spirit, life and love to give I would like to make her remaining years comfortable but would like to be able to do it naturally I have tried the Collapsed Trachea test but no cough I am thinking Asthma but your advice would be great and what I can give her naturally Cheers Tessa NZ

i had to take my 9 year old shihtzu to the vet for coughing and runny nose, tried the lemon and honey it didn;t work, she put him on clavaseptin 62.5 mg 2 tablets 2 times a day for 5 days, it didnt work, he is now on azithromycin 100mg orally once a day, it has helped alot but he is still coughing some, and he wants to sleep all the time,he gets up to pee and i have been hand feeding him, that's not new though, he was always a picky eater and i always hand fed him, the vet is telling me i should try lung worm treatment, which i will do tomorrow,if that doesn't work, i am at my wits end, i have no ideas left on how to help him, i am so very worried about him, i love him dearly and want him to get better, what are your thoughts please answer

@@berildapalou9121 The alternative is narcotics, surgery or death for our dog’s collapsing trachea. The surgeon said that if they put stints in the worst case scenario she is going to still cough. They said imagine a foreign object in your throat would do that. It’s mostly elderberry juice that does the work I think. Lately she hasn’t even needed it so. Few homeopathic remedies really work like this does. I just get why there’s so many comments.

Does it work if added to food or does my dog have to swallow it straight? He’s very finicky.
