Stop Chasing Possessions: Go beyond Material Wealth | Eckhart Tolle

In this video, Eckhart explores the idea that true satisfaction in life goes beyond material possessions. He emphasizes the importance of connecting to a peaceful inner state to fully enjoy life's experiences, regardless of one's surroundings. Eckhart also discusses how true abundance originates from an internal state of Being, rather than external wealth.

Enlightenment is not a "one time only" event; and it's not a "one size fits all" even either. When one experiences the beginning stages of enlightenment, one has to nuture and cultivate it, and continue to expand it. What does an enlightened entity do??? She/he does what one always does.......chops wood and caries water. Obviously it's more complex than that, however, We think you get the point. In essence we become what we already are. Namaste.🙏😊

This is amazingly good. The other trap in life, is to feel you have to have things, to not be a loser and belong to group. I have a lovely local park to go to, which is my little garden of Versailles. Ok, I don't own it, on a title, but I'm only temporary anyways so there's no point.

I always think that too. If it was tour garden you'd have to trim the hedges and plant the flowers! I live in the countryside where there are no parks unfortunately but I like to pretend I own everything or that it's mine in a way like the cows and hills and houses around me. It makes me feel good to feel like it's my village in a way. And it's also nice to think that I live like a medievil king. When I don't have any money or something I sometimes think oh no...but then I remember I have nettles in the garden and I usually do have enough money to buy an onion and make nettle soup and I think haha look at my fancy cooker and my fancy porcelain plates how I live like a king couldn't even dream in a medievil time! 😂

I wrote about this mental wealth, I called it, our happiness well. It must be kept full to give us a reason to be happy. But, filling the happiness well brought debt. Because, to be happy things that will best give us days, maybe weeks of happiness feels good. But, it creates its own stress and worry about how to afford the payment for the short-term happiness. So, we end up being depressed or anxious about debt incurred by feeding what turns out to be the feeding of our egos. So, again our we're identifying with form, we're not making ourselves happy only the ego gets happy, while we the authentic us gets the bill for it. I also call this the the circle of life. We're not needing or wanting anything, but our egos do, and we can't see that our unhappiness is due to the ego, which we identify as being self. Ego can play the part of individuals so well that even the individual can't tell that it's ego, not self...

Things are just things and are temporary but happiness is an inner state that can be cultivated and then we attract those temporary things that match our state of energy. Very important lesson often lacking in main stream Law of Attraction teachings. Joe Dispenza teaches this too. Namaste

@CJRelationshipConsulting well it's not only physical possessions but sometimes even a 4elationship can be seen as physical possession. The notion that if you have limitless money will mean you will be permanently happy is foolishness There are four myths about happiness Humans ought to be happy all the time If your not happy, then you're defective You should not have negative thoughts We can control how we think and feel. This is from a book entitled The Happiness Trap by Doctor Russ Harris. So getting back to my original statement we love happiness but happiness is always transient, it comes and goes and often by chance. So we buy a fix, a car etc, a guitar we envy etc. When I hit puberty I realise how much some of my school mistresses made me feel, one day I rubbed the bottle that held the genie and the genie popped out. As I got older I thought happiness could be permanently procured through marriage to a woman, in someways this is true but of course ,arrange is hard work, I know I have been married 44 years nor. However it is still to easy to have the desire to consume, perhaps If I got a later model with more go I can restore happiness. A man who has never had a fantasy over a another woman doesn't exist. However I have never cheated on her physically and never would ut the male desire was always there. If consumerism brought happiness then the rich and famous would be permanently happy. We all believe the lies of fairytale and Hollywood. And so The princess married the princess and they all lived happily ever after. Well Charles married the beautiful fairy Tale princess Diana but of course he really love the dominatrix Mistress Camilla. Diana died, Charles married his mistress and now has Cancer. So much for fairytale.

IDK, I have a 2 year old son and we rent in an economy where rent is virtually unaffordable so I am pretty keen to build some financial wealth so I can buy a material house for my family. Would be great not to have these fears and needs.

I believe that the reason many people are in this situation is because the system of global governance is so designed against us working class people. I believe that the chaos we're seeing in the world is the end of an era of legal slavery if I can call it that. I really believe that we're growing up as a collective, and we're going to be more caring and compassionate towards each other going forward, and we're going to get rid of the system of governments that have been enslaving us for the benefit of a few . Do the best you can, create the best you can . This too shall pass. Cheers.

Interesting to note although, money pays the bills etc, it fails to bring us lasting joy. It does however, highlight the need to look within where all true happiness lies 🙏🏼

i mean.. wouldnt it be great if you were so rich that you have all the time in the world to meditate, eat delicious food, read all the books about spirituality and sleep whenever you want to? im not in it for the material things.. but some things in life cant be pursued if your mind is pre occupied with work, financial instability, lack of time etc

That’s rubbish. If you have all the money in your life very few people will realise their true potential. You grow and evolve only when you are challenged and not in being comfortable. Even in chaos or running around of daily life find 30-40 minutes for yourself and connect to your inner self, meditate, do yoga and breathing exercises and then see the difference. You can’t say that when everything is perfect only then I will start my spiritual journey. Your mind is in constant thinking pattern you just have to get hold of it.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: [00:00] ️ Material possessions bring temporary satisfaction. True abundance comes from being connected to a deeper state of being within yourself. [01:15] Peace can be found anywhere, even amidst the chaos of a city. Cultivate inner stillness that is independent of your environment. [02:27] Enjoy the aliveness in all manifestations of life, understanding that everything is temporary. [04:15] Life is a play. True happiness comes from recognizing this and connecting to your deeper self. [06:35] ⛲️ Abundance is about recognizing the source of life within yourself and experiencing the world from a place of fullness. [07:47] Savor sensory experiences without getting addicted to them. [09:19] True abundance allows you to enjoy what you have without being attached to possessions. [10:35] True abundance comes from connecting to a source within yourself, not from seeking external things. [11:13] ✨ Appreciate beauty without needing to possess it. [13:50] ❌ Don't chase material abundance for happiness - it's a fleeting feeling. [15:33] ‍♀️ Inner connection is more important than detachment from possessions. [16:44] True abundance allows you to enjoy life's experiences without fear of attachment. [17:25] Abundance flows naturally from a place of inner peace and enjoyment. [18:27] Give and receive freely, without clinging to possessions. [18:42] ⚠️ Manifesting for material possessions can lead to a cycle of dissatisfaction. [20:09] ✨ True abundance is already within you, not something to be achieved in the future. Made with HARPA AI

Exactly, Banksy the artist would call it ‘exiting through the giftshop’. the source is the gift that keeps on giving and it happens even if you do nothing, beyond your physical-psychological processes yadda yadda, so creativity is the form of superrationallity thats offgrid and puts consciousness to good use. For example its not a good use of consciousness to be in control because the very nature of consciousness is not in control nor is it reproduction or top of the hill. Its more like the Enlightenment/conversion of st Paul in a painting by Caravaggio. Paul just received insight an inner vision, realization. He fell on the ground is just helpless. Yet he obviously forgets his all modes of selves. This image always comes to mind. Still its better coming back acting as a beinghuman than claiming to be the holy spirit, people are going to sense the happiness and if you form it into a political gesture to revolt, people are going to even more try to chase ‘it’ down. They want then what you have/are but if it requires some magic they rather take out the source than to have to discover it themselves. People chase the guru down, not because he is guru, but because they want what he has. Its pointless. I think thats the danger of realization making claims about it in the social realm its all right its all wrong. Anonymously in nature making pointless stuff comes close to freedom. Who cares anyway, especially in central europe, the society apparatus keeps going on like a big grey machine. Nobody has time for fluffy stuff like realization. All the more space for me to be happy and nobody knows it

In my later years of existence I took pleasure in bying clothes (new or mostly second hand) to match from shoes to pants to shirt to coat or jacket to accessories. It makes me feel a bit more like my real persona. It is what i am. I like to dress . I´m glad that Eckhart finally got decent clothes on in this speech that complement in colors and style . 🙂 I´m not joking. Its beautiful in itself. Nothing much else is needed in the material world. Its a small sacrifice to make. And its not material as such

I was just checking the prices for one of this live events in Basel. It‘s funny to see him talk about possessions and how those can carry us away from our inner depth - in contrast then to the 230 swiss francs he’s requesting for a seat. One of my friends told me he can only pay cat 4 as it‘s too expensive. How fishy is that ? How does all that money reflect in his ability to be really connected with his inner self ? Questions, questions…
