Thanks so much for doing this! And yes, this is the first one of the Blind Swords ACW series. Duel of Eagles was actually the very first game using this system, covering the Battle of Mars-La-Tour during the Franco-Prussian War (published by White Dog Games). Thanks again and glad you're enjoying it!

Thanks to you for the excellent game, Hermann. I look forward to exploring the other titles in the series (I have 3 others already).

Well done. In my view this system seems to really give the feel as to what commanding (or attempting to command) a civil war battle must have been like.

I agree. I just got the most recent two games in the series. I'm an addict for Blind Swords.

Nice introduction and mechanics tutorial. We’re starting this system this week and this was very helpful in understanding game play and rules comprehension. Much appreciated! :)

You're in for a good time! I also did a review video of the latest game in the series, A GREATER VICTORY. It's been interesting to see where the series has gone. It's 95% the same, but there's subtle tweaks and design decisions that have changed along the way.

@@PushingCardboard I have heard that it differs a bit with the others in the series. We’ll see how it goes! 👍

Great overview! I have two games in this series that I haven't played yet, and I think I'm going to add this one as well. Seems like a great system. The 2d6 rolls working like d10s in that they're 10s and 1s is a bit unusual, but seems to work OK. That snake eyes at 16:30....you roll like I do :)

Yeah, I haven't seen the 2d6 used that way in years, probably not since the 80s. (Or maybe that's just my memory.) It's great, let's the designer use a different distribution than the bell curve. I'm eager to play more games in the series as well.

Wet or dry, streams are basically ditches, and have an effect on movement

Better check that. Stonewall's Sword uses it's own rules, not the series rules. Check 3.2.c. Dry streams have no effect in the game. If the stream art runs along a hexside it is a flowing stream, if it runs through the middle of the hex, it is a dry stream.

I mean in real life; in Virginia, streambeds tend to be an obstacle, wet or dry.

Hard to say as I have a fairly good cupboard full. At a certain point in life, it started to become the default birthday gift to me from my friends. I can't drink it as fast as they gift it.

Nicely done! If you like what you see in the Blind Swords system, you absolutely MUST get “A Most Fearful Sacrifice.” Hurry, it’s selling fast!

@@sparerib5494 I'm certain there is. But I'm strict about not playing a game via VASSAL unless I (or my opponent) own the game. So I'll definitely be able to play someone via VASSAL who owns it. Probably my Blind Swords partner.
