As a Retired Senior Chief, I don't understand why he would make up all that BS, his record was pretty impressive without fouling the waters with that BS! He should be proud of what he did in the Navy instead of making shit up. I have people ask me if I'm a SPEC Warrior due to my lifetime in the gym and I tell them straight up, I'm Knuckle Dragging Navy Senior Chief Aviation Machinist Mate, Jet Mech and I'm Proud of my service without FODDing up with some BS lies!! I went in 2002-2009. Was injured 2007, and discharged 2009. Hearing this stolen Valor on a man who had so many years to make his story, it makes me sick. We served and died and was hurt, and an elderly man who claims his valor is bs. I have to defend my own service as tacp because of stolen valor. I had to spend my last 2 years of service to walk again, but this old man that no one would ever question gets hit with gratitude and lime light. Mean while the rest of us have to defend ourselves. I got two NAMs and a NCM, both for units of Operation Market Time, both plowing donuts off the coast of the former South Vietnam. That V was gedunk! I know...I have three of them! My "Baby" Sister (about 40ish at the time) took up living with a guy who claimed to be a SEAL. He started talking about his time in Vietnam after asking me if I had spent time there (no, I didn't.) A good portion of what he shared did not add up. Add to that this is a very small town and I hadn't heard that this dude had even joined the Navy. As I couldn't prove he was lying I didn't challenge him. Sis moved out a few months later and admitted to me that she too thought he was lying. He passed away a couple of years later from Cancer. His obit in the local paper contained no information of military service. My own Shadow Box contains all eight of my Medals and the 3 rows of ribbons I earned. When asked I freely tell whoever askes "No, I am not a hero ... but I have had the honor of serving some." When thanked for my service (I wear my USN Retired cap almost everywhere) I normally reply "It was an honor to be able to serve" or words to that effect. Thank you for your service shipmate.
I’m a 23 year old that works in the parts department of a car dealership and never have been in the military but I genuinely enjoy watching your videos and appreciate all the work you have done for the SEAL community by exposing these liars. Thank you Sir.
My sons mom was killed while serving in the U S Army gave up her life while serving are country. And all of us still miss her every day. To see these ppl like this man makes me sick.
Thanks Don all the hard work you put in ..

Hahahahaha! Barracuda in a hole that bit a man’s arm so bad they had to amputate… I’m a diver and spear fisher. I hunt barracuda and I’ll tell you this much, barracudas don’t live in “holes” in the ocean 😂 sharks operate on smell and by touch primarily… they see just fine underwater. His story is complete horseshit!

My biggest issue with this channel is that Don doesn't enjoy this work! I hate seeing how hard it hits him, when I just drop in for some brilliant entertainment, then I waltz out again. Cheers for what you do, Don. I hope you can find pleasure in your sleuthing skills!
Thanks Don! That would be a hard one. We veterans appreciate your dedication.

I looked up your name on the seal database, and it doesn't show anywhere here that you were in Navy seal. You were a famous star that was the main character in many great action films, and made Millions as well as acquired millions of fans. There's even a joke collection made about you. But as far as being a Navy seal, you are not coming up on the database. Care to explain that ?

What a waste of a pretty decent career it looks like. He buried all those achievements with B/S.

How can you have a whole career in the Navy and not have enough actual stories to pass around without making up BS?
@justinlast2lastharder749

Because most Navy Personnel are either Cooks, Janitors, or Mechanics. That's why so many of the Fakes turn out to have been Navy and why so many that embellish are former Navy. Along with the Air Force, it's the service path most likely to end up with a Mundane Blue Collar Job while serving...but at least Air Force has the benefit of not sharing bunks with other dudes and has a reputation for intelligence. It's the Nature of that Branch. Army and Marines you are a lot more likely to see combat or at least have what kids would see as a "Cool Job".
@haveaday1812

@@justinlast2lastharder749 I guess I was in a different Navy than the one you describe. What you describe bears little resemblance to what I experienced. There's no rating for janitor for one thing. And the supply department is relatively small compared to engineering and operations. Perhaps you should have watched different movies to learn stuff. Yeah, ground troops do face combat more frequently than do sailors. This is a feature not a bug, along with three hots and a cot every day. Soldiers and Marines make up tales too. But most of the fakes never served at all.

@@janerkenbrack3373We are talking about people not having enough stories to tell to impress without making them up. Most Navy stories are entertaining/humorous stories rather than "Im a Badass"...unless it is a Seal. It's the nature of the Branch, there is very little beyond Pilot, Officer, and Seal that offers individual achievement making you the badass hero. Its a group effort to do things and most of the tasks are mundane tasks regardless. Meanwhile, to the Average Person, even a normal combat patrol with a minor skirmish sounds "cool" to normies...so Army and Marines are less likely to have to go to the length of embellishing "Special Forces" to tell tales that make them seem badass. "We were on patrol, I had my M4 Kitted out, we heard there was an enemy presence..." Is a compelling individual story even if it ends up "and we encountered nothing, but boy it was a tense atmosphere" type thing. Just think about Vietnam. Troops were in the Jungles fighting Charlie on some on some Full Metal Jacket shit...while Navy like this dude were on support boats and exaggerate that they were in "the Shit" too. Everyone has impersonators and embellishers from actual service members, they just do it in different ways. Army is most likely to lie about confirmed kills. Marines are most likely to say they didn't eat the red crayon again, they didn't pay for companionship, or how it totally wasn't him they saw walking into the adult theater last night...There's different things they lie about is what im saying...
I'm worried about Don's blood pressure. Thankful for his service.
The poor family of that old codger, sucks for them.
Don Shipley - my day just got better. Great to see his take downs. More strength to your elbow!
I graduated from HT A school in Philly in 1977. No embellishment, no V's, no silver stars but I had a good time on my ships.
I served in the Navy in Vietnam 70-71 for 7 months at Solid Anchor, I was never a Seal, but there were 2 platoons of Seals there, never knew about them before. Lived in the hootch next door to them and loved to hear stories of their ops. I was saddened when a Seal Lt on his second deployment was kia only a couple of weeks after his return in country. Keep up the good work, Don.
