Stoeger M3000 first impressions and shooting

Bought a Stoeger M3000 - read some comments suggesting it wouldn’t cycle light loads. Some of the videos I watched weren’t terribly helpful so here’s my rookie attempt at helping you decide.
Overall, I’m pleased. I definitely would need to adjust cast and drop and it has the shims. I’m going to be fitting it to my son and we’ll see how it does.

I’ve put a few hundred rounds through my m3000 and the only problem I had was with the browning target loads. Before even mentioning it to a group of buddies they were talking about how the browning target loads suck when it came to feeding, which my stoeger was failing to do. So in conclusion it’s a awesome gun for the price point. My has been flawless after easily 150/200 rounds.

So turns out it has a cast off shim on it already. Checked for fit on my son. Put a really thin Kickeez cheek pad (1/16? I think) and afternoon shouldering it a bunch to build muscle memory, he’s seeing a good sight picture. Still no failures with 1oz loads.

I would still need more cast - my 686 you can see the cast from outer space and I feel like my SBE2 is further out than this one.

Polish the mag tube with some 600 sand paper to eliminate that annoying zip sound on recoil.

You mentioned setting the cast for your son. Does the Stoeger now come with the shims to set cast? Can the cast be set to neutral suitable for righties and lefties? That would be great because Benelli does not make shims for neural cast.

waiting to pick mine up later this week, i got the Benelli extractor and inertia spring as back up parts and have an MOA charging handle and oversized safety coming in soon, cant wait to bust some clay. not sure if I should change the stock parts out for the Benelli parts as an upgrade immediately and have the stock parts on hand as spares... thoughts?

Had mine for a year now and had a lot of issues after about 50 rounds. Failures to feed, extract and eject intermittently. I looked it up,down, inside out and upside-down and couldn't find a problem. Finally stripped all the factory oil off of every part and re-lubed it and fixed all of my issues. If you have issues I hope this helps. Downed many dove and squirrels and plenty more to come.

That's not oil in it. That's cosmoline. It's a rust protector. You wanna strip that stuff and relube or it will cause issues.
