In this video, I go to a nearby lake and net 50 gambusia minnows to add to my ponds. They are great starter fish and also eat mosquito larvae. Thanks for watching!!

So glad you got some American Bullfrog tads and those crawdads are adorable! We had bullfrogs in our koi pond until last summer until a gorgeous Red Tailed Hawk discovered it. ::sigh:: 🐸🐠 rip Oh how this reminds me of early morning seining for chubs to sell to the bait store when I was a teen. I had an overnight trap I baited with bread, as well. Silly water snakes would think "I hit the buffet!" go in the hole, eat their fill then drown. 😢 Of course, taking them out was a tummy tickler 'cause sometimes they hadn't drowned yet. 🐍 But the money was good for the work, 25¢ per 5 small minnows and 10¢ per chub. Nightcrawlers were 10¢ per crawler as well. They sold for 25¢ per chub or crawler and 75¢ per 10 small minnows and worms.

I'd also order online daphnia, ostracod, and copopod eggs to sprinkle into the ponds to keep algae blooms down.

I'd be shocked it a bunch didn't hitchhike on the hornwort he added, not to mention the pond water that came with the mosquito fish.

@@jic1 True but you also get other predators that way, too.
Yes to bullfrogs!! The ponds are looking great!
you should put some more crayfish/crawdad eventually and maybe in the bass pond you could add catfish
The gars and turtles will love those ponds!
Your videos are very interesting
The ponds are so beautiful!! 🥰🤩 I forgot about every worry and pain while watching this video, you are the best KZreadr, my favourite! ❤️
Looking forward to the new ponds being ready. This is really interesting watching you start from the ground up. Very educational. Thanks for all that you share. Take care.
I was so hyped for a new pond video I kept checking the channel everyday
These ponds, I feel so connected to them already, because of all the behind the scenes you've shown us. I can't wait for every new video, I can't wait to see them a year, 2, 5 from now!
Yes tadpoles I love them
Need to add some more greenery to the pond. Gonna be awesome
these pond update videos are my favourite. its so cool to see the early stages and development of what I have no doubt will be a flourishing little ecosystem :)
Lily pads would make good cover and make the pond in general look abit better with the greenery and flowers as well as reduce Nitrates, Interesting to see if the Gambusia(mosquito fish) survive and reproduce.
Thanks for making my day friend
Like the longer vids
I absolutely love this channel. Fantastically interesting, and the care you take with your critters is heartwarming. Many many thanks for your humanity
I can't wait to catch minnows once it is a sunny day at my local creek.
That was cool watching them drain out of the cooler.
Cool can’t wait for more updates!
I love how you are hands on with everything. We can see you love and passion for aquatic life. Keep it up. Love the content.
One of the best series on KZread, can't wait for the final product!
Hey buddy.....they will be very happy in the huge pond

Ever since yu started raising the gar and more recently starting the ponds i be anticipating your uploads
Thanks for keeping us updated, cool stuff and very excited to see more
Are you going to plant anything that grows from the bottom of the pond? Like reeds and such, or even things that grow in deep water and are completely underwater. And where'd the stuff you added last time go? These poor blighters can't hide anywhere!

they dont need to hide anywhere when there is no oxygen in the water :/

Beautiful.
There they go!
Hopefully, your new minnows will breed fast enough to keep ahead of your bass and turtles' appetites!
Loved this so much!! I can't wait to see what's next
Ooo maybe stock it with shiners too? When they get established theyll become a good constant food source
i love turtles and fish and crawfish
I would put them in the bucket without touching them. Also, it is a good idea to make sure the water temp is close to the same.
6:01 That was a smooth transition.
Loved it
