Tal: *breathes* Stockfish: brilliant!!
Stronger stockfish finds c5 is actually the best move, thus this is a perfect game by Tal

Tal is not normal chess player. He is the magicians.
Ive watched so many videos about great games but this has to be the best, besides the game itself being breathtaking, it also works really well with your explanations and the humour. Thanks for another excellent video
Tal is too much for stockfish to handle. Seriously, he was just mysterious chess legend
Never seen anything like this before. Going to have to examine more of Tal's games. The blocking move with the bishop on g6 was such a killer outpost for the bishop so early in the game. Seeing those weak squares early and taking full advantage is the name of the game. Nc6++ forking king and queen looked good at first but better yet is Ne6#. Simply amazing. Always look for a better move.
5:23 Ne6+# ... Double check to King by Queen and Knight, Knight also covers c7, Bishop cover e8, Queen covers d7.
Yes you were spot on in mentioning in a casual way "everyone does sacrifices but Tal always somehow manages to win in the end". Most of his games were just extraordinary brilliance. I personally have found that if we are not afraid to lose, we become much better attacking player. And thats why we fail to find attacking players in round robin open tournaments. Because people would love to take a draw rather than take a chance to win. Its all in the mind

I have noticed that it's the mindset which makes the difference between winning aggressively. We all play for points in open chess tournaments and don't just think about playing with our strengths
I played a game when i was tired and blundered a queen for a rook. On the next day i found out the engine thinks it's a brilliant move but i just didn't find the mate. Thank you for showing us the brilliant game Igor!
@ 5:23 after Queen takes White Bishop a5, black can give double Check by moving Knight to Ne6 (Discovered Check by black Queen too.).. It's a Checkmate !!!
Knight to E6 is a double check, and also checkmate as the knight covers the C7 escape square!
Thanks GM!! Very Instructive & Educative Content!!
Thanks Igor..another beautiful demonstration...I want to play more like Tal !
This is so inventive, it is a pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing this marvelous game.
Hi All! At 4:00 i found another move that wins the queen for white. Instead of pawn c4 white goes bishop a5 attacking the queen. Queen cannot capture the bishop or move away by the pinning, because white knight goes e6 would be a checkmate.

5:25 Ne6 Checkmate (double check and discovered check)
5:23 Nc6# -> it's a discovered check.
that's such a pretty game so many interesting and surprising moves
While the game itself is amazing, the tip for developing visualization skills is a gem and will probably be the best part of this video.
Hi igor, can you make a video about 1.b3 vs f5? Thanks

At 5:28, the best move is Ne6 checkmate.
5:28... Its obvious N-E6 is mate because a double check can only be countered by moving the King and there are no escape squares
Tal is always legend of chess
It wouldn't be a Mikhail Tal game without a brilliant move
at 4:02 p to e5, why didn't Tal play B a5 right away ? He gets the queen right away, or the opponent gets mated with knight check on e6

I think this game is very similar with mikhail Tal VS lambit oll
5:26 Ne6# (double check)
I absolutely love pawn checkmates. Although I play a mid-range bot w three take backs. Still I lose half. Any game that I do over a bad move I consider a tie. Or I resign instead of check mating. Don't want to hurt the bots feeling and have it say I cheated.
What's the full name of the opponent and what year? Thank you
Do you have a master class in improving long-term strategy?
4:09 instead of c5 i think ba5 is better move
Magnificent
5:27 i think white knight can go to e6 to give a discovered double check and checkmate
in 5:26 its c6 beacuse it has double check and discover check
My idol Tal is a chess genius
5:07 that's vintage russian humor for you 😂

Can u move Ba5 instead of c5 attacking the queen...
4:02 bishop to a5 could have win the queen because if queen takes on a5 then knight to e6 is a checkmate.. Correct me if I'm wrong 🙏
@snoozelight2
Жыл бұрын
you could but after pawn takes knight on d4 you take queen pawn takes back then white take pawn on d4 pawn gos e5 chasing the queen away and open file for bishop as well So basically the line your saying is ba5 exd4 bxb6+ axb6 qxd4 e5 qc3
The answer of the puzzle is Nb3 which wins the queen
4:13 white can play Ba5 roght?
5:27 Qa5 by black is a grave mistake, because of White's move Kne6 checkmate!!! Black can't capture the knight, because of the double check from the Queen on d1. You could also play knc6 check, which forks the king and the queen, but this wins in a slower fashion as opposed to the other way, which is an instant win

@4:11 can anybody say why pawn c5 is the best move..??we can win the queen in this move itself right..lyk if we play bishop h5 forcibly pinning the queen..and if the queen takes our bishop, knight e6 checkmates..as queen was the one protecting the e file..we can directly play knight e6#..pls anyone explain why c5 is the best move and bishop h5 isn't!?

Black will happily sacrifice the queen and win the knight because they are already far ahead materially. Pawn c5 ensures that there is an open file to continue the attack, leading to a checkmate.

In 5.23 the move is Nc6+
Is there any Tal's game without sacrifice ?
I am amazed the Stockfish couldn't see that far ahead. The Monte Carlo tree search must of skipped these crucial lines of play because of the sacrifices.

I think so. I noticed the engine often seems confused by sacrifices. Then the next move will be a brilliant move. Its like it cant see all sacrifice lines. Or see how someone who is not a computer will fall for certain sacrifices. It just doeant think like a person.
