Great cover! I recommend using grace notes, appoggiatura in this case, instead of using dots; makes reading easier.

Hi, excuse my ignorance for a beginner but can you tell me why at the beginning do you start with the pinky finger and then the index but change to the middle finger and slide up back onto the index finger. I'm confused lol. But brilliantly and soulfully done.Thank you.

Move very slowly and control the movement of your fingers and hand, avoid unnecessary movements and make sure you always keep your hand tidy and fingers down. When you have those in guitar you place your finger on the string without pressing down on the string - just gently touching the string and pluck the string. This is called muting. Presumably it’s the same for bass
