For this Video you should really watch a "what is going on video" or you miss so many details of what is really happening here. For someone who doesnt know that cinematic seems to be different battles mixed together but knowing what is going on you see actually a red thread trough everything happening here.

This cinematic was a love letter to the lore of the Game and a nice apology for the one from last season. There are tons of details that you only really notice or appreciate if you know about them. So just you can also aprreciate them, have some information :D We start with the two sisters at 1:00 those are Kayle and Morgana, they are the twin aspects of justice in Runterra. They are defending what is to become Demacia, one of the big regions in modern day League of Legends. They fight against Aatrox who is a corrupted demigod that is immortal and hates the world for it, so he tries to destroy everything through war. They defeat him and he get's (propably for the first time) sealed into his giant Sword. The second scene is in future Ionia, here we see Yasou fight of pillaging bandits. This ist mostly a badass old man trying to help people without killing. If you noticed not a single of those bandits bled as he slashed them. At 5:26 you can see him accepting his end even tho he could propably deflect the arrows and the white arrow coming for him was fired from Kindred, specificaly the lamb, the embodiment of death. The last scene brings us to the Frelyord where we see Tryndamere, also the man from the beginning, laying on the ground close to dying. He then fight Kindred, the wolf and the lamb. Those two are the concept of death in Runterra, the lamb comes and swiftly takes those who accept death, the wolf on the other hand goes and hunts those who try to refuse. At 5:58 we get a nice nod to one of his abilities in the game, the glowing red eyes.Tryndamere can become immortal for a short time. He fights of death and at 6:17 where the Lamb lowers her bow and doesn't take the shot, is because the moment thos two ice arrows fly by, Tryndamere is no longer in mortal danger, so there is no more for Kindred to take. She then desolves into Ashe, Tryndameres Wife who came to save him by shooting the two guys.

People keep saying he becomes immortal for a few seconds that’s only in terms of gameplay, tryndamere can’t die because of aatrox bloodmagic, he is cursed to never die by aatrox, when trynd gets too injured he gets the so called undying rage, which makes him want to kill, he can’t stop this rage because it isn’t his, is aatrox’s rage

Ooooh, yeeeaaah, I'm definitely gonna recommend you listen to/watch some other League cinematics, namely 'Awaken' (2019), 'Warriors'(2020), and 'The Call' (2022). If you like 'Still Here', you'll definitely appreciate her older siblings. All music videos, so it's channel relevant. And if you liked Arcane, you'll like the 'Warriors' cinematic for reasons you'll understand when you watch it

watched this probably like 25 times ... and still get goosebumps .. playing league since 2015

Context: This cinematic is described as the "Past, Present, and Possible Futures" and if you noticed between each transition, there is very small image of Kindred as she comes to claim each soul's life, in the fire when Morgana burns Aatrox and her eyes in the faint woods as Yasuo accepts his death with the arrow being shot at him The first two characters you see (the angels) are Morgana (Purple Wings), and Kayle (White Wings) the twin Aspects of Justice. They're also sisters wielding two halves of their mother's blade (their mother was the previous Aspect of Justice). That scene takes place in the past of what we know of the lore right now, during a siege on a kingdom called Demacia, which happened in ancient times. To be an Aspect is kind of like being an avatar for a god. The person they're fighting is Aatrox, who, at one point, was also kind of an avatar for godly powers, but was corrupted by blood magic, and effectively "cursed" to never die. He now seeks the destruction of all existence in the hopes that he could finally rest. The last bit of the scene seems to be meant to show the differences in Kayle and Morgana's personalities. Morgana will sink to any low she needs to in order to do what is right, whereas Kayle sees herself above it all, looking at her position as an Aspect as far more important than it possibly is. Since this is the past, this is technically before Kayle and Morganna split and go separate ways on deciding how to deal Justice. But you can definitely tell Kayle is now mad at Morganna for using magic and two, throwing down there's mother sword. The second scene is of the future, in a small village in a land called Ionia. The old samurai is a character by the name of Yasuo, a master of a powerful wind technique. He's had a life of disgrace, and hardship, failing to save his master who taught him the wind technique, being blamed for his death, and then having to kill his own brother who hunted him down. Clearly, when he grows old, he finds a place in the small village, and lives there in peace until it's attacked, prompting him to take up a sword in defense of the people. The scene is pretty self-explanatory, but it's a very strong moment for League of Legends fans for sure. The final scene is my favorite. The whole video starts with the line "Tomorrow is a hope. Never a promise." This line is spoken by Lamb, one half of the character known as The Kindred. The Kindred serve as the Grim Reaper of the world of League of Legends. The story goes that Death was so lonely that it split itself in two, so it would "always have a friend". One half is the Lamb, and the other half is the Wolf. Lamb represents the peace in acceptance of death, wielding a bow to deliver a swift end, and Wolf represents the violence of rejecting and running from death, being literally a beast that mauls anything that tries to escape. You only see them when they've decided your time has come. The character we zoom in on at the end is Tryndamere, a barbarian king of the Freljord (Frel-yord). At the very beginning, he seems to be in a battle for his life against surrounding forces. When we reach the end, his vision shifts to a darker scene, and the image of the Kindred come into his view. Wolf is on the offensive, because Tryndamere is trying to fight for his life. Lamb tries to deliver shots that will end him quickly, but it seems Lamb is surprised to see that Tryndamere has a power that lets him avoid death for a short time (which is what the red in his eyes means) (If I am correct based off lore, he is infused with blood magic which technically allows him to become immortal when on the brink of death). It catches them off guard and lets Tryndamere almost get a blow in. While Wolf attempts to maul him, Lamb tries to go for one final strike, when Ashe, the frost archer, and wife of Tryndamere, arrives and kills two of the men that were attacking him. The Kindred and their darkness fade away, indicating that Ashe's arrival has saved Tryndamere from the Kindred's hunt, and the death he was destined for. As more forces move in against them, Ashe fires a hawk shot into the air to signal their position and call for reinforcements.

​@@deadellavita798kinda of...The arrow that hits Yasuo is a normal arrow that is glowing white to symbolize Kindred/death yes, but it has nothing to do with hawkshot. The hawkshot skill is actually used in the transition between the Yasuo scene and the Tryndamere scene (notice after the arrows "hits Yasuo" and we switch to Trynd we see the hawkshot effect in the sky)

Trynda and Ashe got married for politics, fell inlove with time. Kindred depicts dead past, present and future. Check the animations again, the voice at the begining is the Lamb's voice, Lamb's bow offers a swift release from the mortal realm for those who accept their fate. Wolf hunts down those who run from their end, delivering violent finality within his crushing jaws. That is the reason why you see the Lamb in the fire after Atrox dies, you see the wolf behind the arrow that takes away Yasuo's life, and in the final fight you see the Lamb circling around trying to understand why Trynda has not accepted his parting and keeps fighting. I hope this info help you a little bit.

I pulled up the video before watching any reactions, and even then, it brought tears to my eyes. The whole message of "I'm still here," along with the theme of pushing through adversity is very significant to me. I've been through a lot over the last few years. Over the last decade, honestly (though, it was one of those 'if you put a lobster in a pot of cold water and raise the temperature, they won't notice until it is too late' kind of decades). But I've survived it and I'm moving on from all of that, and in the last year, as I've been focusing on rebuilding myself, this whole message of "I may be beaten down and tired, but I am still here despite all of that" is very much frontmost in my brain. But, apparently, this one is a fully canon cinematic from League, and it is filled to the brim with lore deep cuts. I actually watched a video from Necrit going over the lore in it. I knew... next to none of the lore going into this, but one thing is that the character with the round glowing eyes and the wolf are, fundamentally, this world's embodiment of death, and they show up in each of the three scenes. In the one with the 'valkyries,' as you called them, it doesn't step in because that great demon isn't able to die. In the middle story, you see the wolf as the arrows are flying up to come down on the samurai character (who is the guy with the wind powers, just decades later than the in-game present), and the one that comes straight for him is the same kind of glowing arrow that we see the death archer firing in the last scene, implying that this is his death years later. Most interestingly, the scene implies that he's at a point in life where he has forsaken killing - none of the bandits that he fights are killed. Even the leader, who he blasts with the wind... it seems as though he is knocking him away from the rain of arrows. And the last scene is a character... having a kind of near-death experience, with some of the implications being that he isn't actually fighting death, but rather the warriors who were surrounding him in the first place. Phenomenal storytelling all around!

@7:30 Strangely enough, the song and the lyrics are actually about the entity of Death in the LoL universe. The story goes that Death separated himself into two halves -- Everybody and everything gave Death a wide side-step for obvious reasons, and because he felt lonely, he decided to split himself into two entities: The lamb and the wolf, seen in the 3rd part of the cinematic. The lyrics of the song are actually Death's state of being. Nobody can take anything away from him because he is hollow. Gripping with cold hands, feeling like a straw man, his shadow stretching out. The "still here" part is Death reminding those alive that he is always there, waiting... hence why his halves (the wolf and the lamb) have small appearances in the 1st and 2nd part of the video as well, even though they dont make their presence obvious.

For the feminine energy part : that's when they do GOOD women characters in games/movies or whatever other thing, here with Morgana and Kayle, they struggle but eventually win because of teamup and thanks to them using their inner strenght and different powers. That's giving goosebumps.

I don’t play league but I do love the lore. Necrit KZread videos and breakdowns are amazing to get a good understanding on everything that is being told and did one for this cinematic if are curious and don’t want to read it. You would appreciate these cinematics in a whole other level.

I can xpress enough... stay like this please. Riot games is really really great at producing tv shows, comics, musics and short stories. They are amazing. The only problem is that playing it is kind of fkd up. I hope you look necrit explaining the lore for this video since most recent cinematics are cannon on Runeterra's lore. It's a blast.

League music videos are amazing. I can recommend a few others to watch: “MORE,” sung by a virtual k-pop group made up of League Champions. “Warriors,” specifically the version created for the new ranked season at the start of 2020. “GODS,” a music video made to commemorate the start of the 2023 world championship. “The Baddest,” another song from the virtual k-pop group, released as part of the same EP as MORE. “The Call,” made to commemorate season start 2022. “Paranoia,” another song made by a virtual singing group, this time a boy band.

You need to see all the music videos of LOL, you are just going to love it❤

I need to say that for this one you are really missing out if you don't know the lore cause it's not actually good vs bad, this one is full Life or death actually having Kindred one of the avatars of death participating.

Yeah I love how in Runeterra lore it's never as simple as pure good and pure evil, there's nuances and gray areas in everything.

Lamb and Wolf (Kindrid) on the last scene is basically the grim reaper in our terminology and they are foreshadowed in the other 2 segments and the opening words. Lamb is seen in the fire from Kayle after Aatrox is soul chains from Morgana (sisters) and you can see Lambs arrow going towards Yasuo in the middle segment with Wolf also being in the shot

you should definitely watch The Call if you haven't. its the cinematic from 2022.

Quick nerd out: First scene with the angels is Past and you see Morgana "fall" to save herself and her sister Kayle (and Kayle hates her for it, you can see the sneer). Second scene is Future with Yasuo who is old and seems like either a wandering ronin or just a guy in the village. The final scene is Present and the key is that the guy on the ground, Tryndamere defies (or defers as part of his kit in-game) death and the Wolf and the masked archer (Lamb... collectively known as Kindred) are this world's equivalent of DEATH (they're the grim reaper of this lore). So they've come to claim him metaphorically/literally because the soldiers he's surrounded by are about to kill him. So he fights this metaphysical battle against Death, and refuses to go... and when things look bleak his wife, Ashe (the archer at the end) saves him and Kindred realizes it's not his time yet and leaves. Aaaaaannnnddd scene. Sorry for the psycho-babble. Glad you enjoyed!

(scene one) The Kayle/Morgana scene is where Morgana lets go of her sword, apparently using a non-heavenly force to bind Aatrox. Kayle looks down on her because she considers such powers to be inferior and falls into his eyes, but continues to finishes the job. Aatrox, who is actually the "sword", is seen falling. So the boat can be killed by kayle. You can see a shadow of Kindred(Lamb) briefly in Kayle's flames. (second scene) Yasuo's scene, is he fighting these mercenaries? I don't know what it is, protecting those who are left, at the end with the many arrows we see a form of a Wolf who is the kindred and then among the arrows we also see the arrow from kindred which means yas died and this was the last battle (third scene)Tryndamere's scene is fighting to the death with unknown enemies and then literally fighting death itself. The fight with Kindred is a metaphysical representation of what happens during Tryndamere's ultimate which can't die for several seconds. In the end, it seemed that Tryndamere's time was running out and the enemies would kill him (so he was ready to drop the arrow and kindred), since the ult would not protect him but his wife ashe appeared and saved him, if she is still his wife, I have no idea haha we see his role as an incarnation or aspect of death since he appears 4 times:

For those who need context: -This whole cinematic is about Kindred. They are the aspect of death. If you accept death, Lamb (the pale one) gives you a swift release with her arrow. If you avoid it, Wolf (the dark one) will hunt you down and make it more painful -The first scene is in the past somewhere around Damacia. Where the two patron sisters fight Aatrox the darkin. Darkin are akin to demon, they possess an host. In the current lore the sisters do not talk anymore because of their vastly different view on justice. Kindred is always present for a death. So when Kayle (the blonde one) burns it all down. Killing the host of Aatrox, the shape can be seen in the flame -The second is a possible future where Noxus successfully invaded Idonia. Yasuo is trying to save a few people and then dies. You can see wolf eyes in the treeline and Lamb arrow finish him off. You can see he accepts his faith because he looks up for a fraction of a second (Noticing Lamb's arrow) and makes sure to finish off the last guy before kneeling. -The last if Tryndamere in the present state of the lore. He has some of Aatrox blood and a rage so great every time he comes close to dying he pushes it away. Hence why he is fighting Kindred, fighting death. His wife Ashes comes to save him at the end but lamb will come back eventually. the hero fighting Kindred in the snowy fields is Tryndamere, and his eyes go red because in the game his ultimate ability is a bloodfrenzied fury (in the lore they let it be understood as some kind of infection from Aatrox's blood magic), which makes him literally unkillable for a short amount of seconds, making him the only human capable of fending off death, therefore the only human who can survive a direct encounter with Kindred. -The "I'm still here" is not so much the heroes it is Kindred themselves because death is inevitable.

The ending characters are kindred (lamb and wolf) who basically is the god of death and shes trying to claim tryndamere. The barbarian guy. He has an ability to have "undying rage" where he cannot die, but he has a limit on it. Which he was saved by ashe his wife before he ran out of time. Basically the grim reaper trying to claim the undying is bad ass

A lot of people have explained kinda what happened, but if you knew each characters story this video would be 10x better, example that scene where morgana the purple winged chick at the beginning, used her dark celestial magic, was a very goosebump scene for us, because she and her sister were fighting for a country named Demacia which is a country that’s against magic their sole mission is to end magic, when they first got attacked by aatrox they never expected to ever face that kind of danger and morgana was forced to use her magic which she had been hiding from them, later on the lore she was shamed for it and I’m not sure if she got kicked or she left demacia and now her sister hates her for destroying their moms legacy

She didn't destroy her mom's legacy she abandoned Kayle's view of it. Kayle views justice as very black and white while morgana views it as Grey and sees humanity in it.

Kayle has a cold, unforgiving and detached view of justice, while Morgana believes that an avenue for redemption is important for doling out that justice. Morgana abandoned her mother's legacy because she believes the power that comes with it makes you lose sight of what it means to be a mortal human, rather than a divine, uncaring being passing judgement on people 'below' you

I love seeing you passionate about the cinematic because it is gorgeous. But the true power of this is in the meaning that every detail has, character history and identity. Also there is something deep about seeing those characters that are in some sense part of you acting with that much life, and also they do a good job at making them use the same abilities they have in the game which creates a weirdly exciting feeling in me and gives even more emotion to it. Looking at you i´m sure you would be crying if you knew the lore behind this like i did, because this cinematic is extremely powerful. EDIT: The last scene when Ashe appears, is one of the most beautiful things i have ever watched. It is so full of meaning, and im not sure i have seen any video explain it the way it deserves. EDIT2: Im not the biggest freak of LOL lore, although im a player. So imagine how good this is.

Just to increase the hype about future possibilities for Arcane, this cinematic features 7 champions, none of which were in Arcane, and Arcane itself features 7 more. League of Legends currently has 166. And the closest connection any of these characters have to the show is that the old guy with a sword (Yasuo) is from a country frequently at war with the nation that Mel and her mother are from.

I'm still here more likely symbolizes the last character (the white lamb and the black wolf) aka Kindred who is the grim reaper of the league world. Meaning no matter the time or the era he will be there doing her job.

I don't know how they to made tryndamere the manilest of manly men have "puppy eyes" when looking at Ashe. And the conceptual choice of having him fight off the embodiment of death every time he used his power called "Undying Rage" Just chef's kiss to the writers!

You should react other league of legends cinematic... Except 2023

league's cinematics are so fucking good it's unreal. you should also check out some of their "bands" like K/DA, True Damage and Pentakill. even if you don't know the game, the songs are still incredibly good and so is the production as well as the animations. if i had to recommend a top 5 to check out: 1. Awaken - Season 2019 Cinematic (best piece of media ever published by RIOT and i'll glady die on this hill) (also the reason why i started playing this abomination they call a game) 2. Villain - K/DA 3. Giants - True Damage 4 Legends Never Die - Worlds 2017 5. This cinematic is filled with lore and becomes more meaningful when you know what's going on. The barbarian guy in the snow is Tryndamere. He actually cannot die as long as there's still the seven chocolate bars of Destiny. Think of it like Horcruxes if you know Harry Potter. He recently became homeless and lost the chocolate bars so now he's trying to get revenge on the man who killed his dog. His dog is actually the one with the furry lamb with the mask. It ate one of the chocolate bars so now it's a spirit. It's not really explained why it attacks but the spirit lamb being with it gives us a clue. Because the lamb visits people who are going to die. It's pissed that Tryndamere did that thing with the chocolate bars. That's all we know so far. The old guy is Yasuo. He is an old man who has mastered the ability to control wind as you can see in the clip. Sadly all his people have died by attacks of another nation who used fire to burn them down. He actually made himself a new life, but in that cinematic we see it all burning down as well. There's hints about him running away from his destiny, so maybe that will change that. The two women with the wings are Kayle and Morgana. They are sisters and have an incestuous BDSM relationship because League got huge when Game of Thrones was popular and the Devs apparently thought incest was a good idea to put in their world. Anyway, that's why you see Morgana, the purple one , using chains to defeat Aatrox, the big monster with the sword. Kayle looks disapprovingly because she's always a bit jealous. The monster with said sword is Aatrox. He once was a normal man but then a demigod turned him into a sword. So he's actually the sword. But if someone picks it up, he can use blood magic to reshape the body of the host and take over his mind. Kinda like a parasite.
