    I would rather use a blower to do these clean ups but I see this being GREAT for cleaning snow off wall ways!

    A strong leaf blower would be alot faster and better for this type of job. I use my power broom with water and degreaser to scrub oil from my driveway.

    I like this video, and it's so strange to hear a gas engine on lawn equipment. I haven't heard one in such a long time. Reminds me of the Boeing 707s that used to fly overhead in the days of old. Loud but powerful..🤔 maybe just loud.

    Sliding scales thank you for your quick response. We clean house and most driveways have green mold stuck on the surface of the concrete driveway. The manual sweeper will be better or the gas sweeper. Your help will be appreciated

    I don't think the power broom is going to help you with mold. It's basically a faster broom, but it's gentle and not aggressive. I think you'd be better off with a power washer if you're trying to clean up moss.

    How well do you think this would work getting rid of moss on an asphalt driveway?

  • @slidingscales257

    @slidingscales257

    Poorly. It doesn't really dig in at all. If the moss were already dead, it would sweep it up. In my experience, if it's alive, then it just goes over the top.

    This one just pushes the dirt/debris around, just like a normal broom. The manual sweepers look like they actually pick up stuff into an onboard collection bin.

    If you've got a small-ish patch of grass, and you already have the broom, I think it'd work okay. It's a bit tiring on the arms because it pulls a bit. You're probably better off using a dedicated lawn dethatcher if you're looking at buying or renting something.

    From my research so far, you want to use the paddle broom attachment instead of the bristles for your lawn. The paddles are made of plastic and will not damage the grass, while getting the job done. Look up a few videos it looks great.

  • @slidingscales257

    @slidingscales257

    2 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, it's expensive, but it has some use cases. General cleanup like in the video is not it. It's good for fluffing up artificial turf, does pretty okay for clearing of not-too-icy snow, and kinda getting rock and stuff out of grass. I had a bunch of standing water/mud on my driveway the other day, and it worked well to push it off to the side. But the power broom only comes out when the leaf blower can't do the job.

    This was supposed to be a comparison of the Stihl Power Broom vs Regular Broom, yet you only showed the bristle broom attachment being used on damp sand, and mulch where the power broom would have been a far better choice. Your "review" was pretty much useless.

    Late to the party comment here but I’m fairly confident you have the actual brush attachment upside down in terms of how it’s positioned with the gearbox. If you look at the instruction manual, the brush attachment is meant to rotate in towards the user and the guard. If you look at the sticker on the guard itself you’ll see what I mean with the directional arrows.
