Stihl KB-KM Power Broom First Impressions (Homeowner)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Initial impressions from a homeowner of the Stihl KB-KM Power Broom attachment plus the KM131R motor head.
The unit is assembled, and then used for the first time. It's used briefly on a paver patio, and then on an artificial lawn to help it stand upright.
Overall, the unit has plenty of power and delivers on what it says.

    Is it effective at lifting weeds and moss from between brick pavers?

    Nope, and it's a little disappointing, because it looks like it'd be awesome at that. It'll lift dead moss, but not live moss. It's similar to using a regular broom on moss/weeds.

    i just bought and noticed it pushes you backwards.when you fight it and push forward it gives a deeper better clean but more effort is needed.when you go backwards its easier but cant put at full.also tried upside down forward and that works also.

    Good question! Flip your power broom over, and it will go the other direction. You'll want to adjust the guard. I made a video to show how it works. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aHeFupuKhNLdldo.html

    Thoughts on using this to clean up paver patios that have a good amount of moss growing? Seems like it might be awesome for the job but not sure how stiff the bristles are? Thanks in advance!

    Adam Mutolo I think it would do not so well. I think if you worked at it, it could do the job. I’d kill the moss with a moss killer first before trying. The bristles look really aggressive, but they’re actually more medium/mild. I made a video showing how well it works on light moss/stubborn pollen on a deck that might be useful: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y6WZ06ZwnMufdc4.html If you do try it, let me know how it worked! Edit: adding link to another video

    Is that your experience with power brooms on paver patios? It worked okay to me. Definitely better than a standard broom.

    He says it’s a four stroke engine and then says in the next sentence that it has oil mixed with the fuel! Should we trust this person to review a machine when he clearly does not understand the basics?

  • @slidingscales257

    @slidingscales257

    Certainly, because Stihl calls it a hybrid “4-mix” engine. Where it’s four stroke in regard to it’s compression/ignition/exhaust cycle, and two stroke in that it uses a gas/oil mix instead of an oil reservoir. A little weird for sure, but has some nice advantages. Here’s their marketing info on it: www.stihl.com/4-mix-engine-lightweight-and-with-good-lugging-power.aspx

    @@slidingscales257 never trust a commentor. You called it right. A 4 mix. 4 stroke with oil gas mixture. No oil resevoir so its small compact and light with power. Thanks stihl

    Don't matter this broom is the biggest waste of $300 on earth. 1 tank of fuel and my bristles are 3 inches shorter, replacements are only $200. Junk junk junk
