I cal mine the test monitor bc teaching isn’t happening 😂 he sits at desk. Says go weld. Looks at are lines at end and says looks good 😂😂 my computer lost its security password to log in to school internet. He said idk 🤷♂️ the high school kids that had welding offered in high-school are helping my old ass. Such a waste of money. I could have bought a welding machine and learned on my own at this rate.

Just discovered you. Love you say Ladies and Gentlemen. I am a woman and don't hear guys acknowledge us that often on "how to do it" videos. They don't get what you get. Women watch cool videos like yours too. Also love your teaching. You are clear thinking, straight talking and obviously, you care that we learn. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

It is not that hard, just keep short arc. Short arc or long arc is your voltage, if you keep it short just like he mention in video "feel" the plate, it means try to keep same short arc thought your weld. First try long arcing on some plate and see how it looks after, than try short arc. You will see "wild" arc and that electricity it is not pointed where you want it to be, than try to keep short arc and you will get smooth arc whitout spater and wildness. I hope my English is correct, sorry if it is not.

So, I'm just learning now, borrowing an inverter and just tackling a project for myself, I've come to youtube alot for stuff like this, I am a tradesman but i love to learn and try different things. I have easily watched a couple hours worth of welding videos, electrodes, amps, ac / dc and ofc running beads. Your videos just settled all my anxiety about getting clean welds on my gate, 10/10 my man, great video and very easy to understand you. camera shots showing angle are perfect.
i remember when i first started learning stick with 6010 i was always sticking the rod or long arcing .. could not get the feed right because i was trying to focus on all variables.. arc length angle travel speed, weave / pattern... and it was too much.. so i bought an old wirefeed and practiced the other variables until they became second nature, didnt have to worry about feeding the filler... then i went back to stick to work on feeding the rod and to my surprise it just clicked... i guess i did it backwards lol.

Great tips. Im just staring out. Your tips are clear and very helpful. I was having a lot of trouble seeing ahead of the weld. I wasn't moving with the weld. Looking forward to more practice now that I know what I was doing wrong. 👍

That's common when you first start out. One of the best ways to learn. to move with the weld is when you start and prop yourself up, prop yourself about to where you plan on finishing the weld instead of where you start the weld. Then you can reach back when you start the weld and staying with the weld will he ALOT easyer because your coming back to your most comfortable resting spot. It's much easier to pull back to yourself than it is to push away from yourself when you are trying to stay with the weld.
Excellent teacher. Explains better than most
In learning to weld from KZread, once I can throw a good consistent bead and I know more about metallurgy I’m gonna go test out and get my certs.

When I weld, which isn’t often, it looked bad. After watching your video, within 5 minutes I was laying beads. You’re a good teacher. Thanks
Thank you. I been wire welding for years and never really got the hang of stick. My company changed my welder and it was nice just to watch this quick video and translate it to my welds
I'm working on getting that same consistency, and that peel is gorgeous.

I've been doing FCAW for a little bit and am just now going to start stick welding. This video is excellently detailed and I'm sure it's going to help a lot. I've found the best thing for me is to admit humility and laugh at my welds, all the while knowing, they WILL eventually get better. It helped me not get frustrated learning FCAW and it will help with this method as well.
Thanks a ton for the details bro. Super super helpful this one for a total beginner. Much appreciated!
I'll try that advice on my training🔥 thanks for making this video... I just realized ive been doing stick weld wrong the whole time lol
You are very professional how you explain this video and very technical. I’ve done a lot of Brazing professional as well but I I need an awesome teacher like your self. Will continue to follow you, i’m very grateful and gratefully for take the time. Thank you may God bless you and your family.
I remember doing this in Jr. High school. It helps keep straight welds.
Best video I have seem. This guy is a great instructor!
This is good to know when you're first learning to weld it's not difficult to learn and thanks for the info 😊

I have to lay a straight bead for a 1g test. I am 62 years old. You taught me to lean on something - anything. I think the view from the helmet probably matters a lot. My Yeswelder helmet has been fine until I had to see the edges of the bevels working on this 1G test. I cradled my right hand using my left hand and lowered my left arm as you do. Thought I was going straight, but when I lifted my helmet, I welded over the edge. A really nice weld, thanks to your stick videos, but over the edge. I am going to get a helmet that provides a better view.

Those Yeswelder true color helmets are fine. Try playing with the shade level, also change the battery from time to time. The Harbor Freight Vulcan ARCSAFE helmets are also quite good--if you can find them.

what welder are you using here to lay your beads?
Good comment about not anticipating at the end of a weld bead.
Nice
I just started taking classes at the adult Ed at the local high school, and the teacher was telling me to do half circle movement. It didn't make sense, and my bead looks terrible because the puddle is all over the place. Is that an actual technique?
Would be great if you could show show how to do a 7018 flat butt joint and how to avoid undercut
Where did u buy your welding helmet? Looks nice. Is it auto darkening?
What welding machine have you used
I need help please!!!, im doing overhead stick 1/8 cap but im not able to see the edges of my plate, so my bead tends to drift off. And my bead is not straight.
No I’m in school now this video is good
How do you stick weld vertically? i'm using welder arc captain, and it looks like bird poop, I use proper amperage, but it still looks like a bird poop, can you give advise please. Thanks
How do you know what apmperage to use?
สวัสดีครับผมเป็นช่างใหม่🇹🇭 ขอบคุณครับ♥️♥️
Interesting to see how you use your left hand to steady and position you hand holding the stick.
Yes.
How do you keep the metal from bowing/bending? 😊

the metal bends when its too hot maybe youre too slow or running in too much amps hope that helps
Neat
Half moons and no.8 rods work just fine don't forget safety always

I'm new to welding, and my rod sticking is one of the most frustrating things, and almost enough to make me give up!!! No matter what I do do, I can't strike without sticking! Often so bad it pulls my stick from my lead!
❤❤
How do you prevent porosity at the start of the weld
my welding teacher told us to heat up a big puddles then do quick zig zags back and fourth
👍🏼
“Watch my body placement” *cuts to a shot of the arc* Jokes aside, I am trying to understand different ways to hold the stinger, but lots of these videos just show the arc
