Cool info clip ! Pulling out was the method we were introduced with for 3G during apprenticeships .Took me years and years to discover that wasn't correct method for anything more than 8 mm material thickness. Even remember seeing on some Info-graphics from top end manufacturers of consumables where there was no reference to pullout - the (root) problem behind porosity , fisheyes, slag inclusions and the like - certainly a No -No with flaw detection! Whatever we've learnt there will be room for refinement

Honestly on here for the sick welding. Teaching myself to weld on a Lincoln 90i. As soon as he said pull out though?? My eyes darted to the amount of comments on a sweet welding video. I knew there would be some witty banter. Thank you my fellow weld nerds for not disappointing me.

Been trying this method out, but not quite getting it right. Definitely better than what i did before. Some of the problems i get is burn through (amperage too high) and massive roots. Another problem is that it fills when i move up to remove material. Overall i get a pretty uneven root and weld. Need more practice

@@zekedelafuentejr5626voltage? Stick is Amps. Also if he's blowing through a smaller land is not good advice. My recommendation is a slightly bigger land, maybe 1/32-1/16 bigger depending. Or slightly lower amperage, drop it 3-5 and see if you get any progress. Could also be blowing through if your arc length is changing, when you "WHIP" upward, (stitch is a weird term, ive always called this method WHIPPING) make sure you keep the rod into the plate, do not pull the rod out of the joint as you manipulate which can sometimes happen unintentionally.
