Although he could have, Stevie would never show up his heros. He was so proud to be up there. Please, Life Without You Live from The Capitol Theater.
oh, man! pure blues...Be still, my heart...my three favorite blues guitarists: B.B. King, Albert King, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. The harmonica blows a sweet breeze into the mix.
Stevie is a gentleman. He let the others shine. Stevie's older brother Jimmy said that Albert King didn't like anyone, but he loved Stevie. Albert and Stevie had a great relationship. They met when Stevie was young and he had the owner of an establishment ask Albert if he could "sit in". Albert said no. Stevie was polite, but relentless, begging the owner to ask again. Albert finally agreed and was stunned when Stevie started playing. They were great friends from then on. ❤️
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 All you have to do is watch this video to see who Stevie's #1 influence was...Mr. Albert King...Stevie's godfather. And, as usual, Stevie let his heroes steal the show. He loved and adored those elder bluesmen.
What a thrill for Stevie to be with his heroes...
Imagine being in that audience. You'd be a part of history. 3 of the best blues artists who ever lived. RIP to all.
With BB, Albert King and Paul Butterfield.........Killer!
Stage full of legends! Two of the Kings, SRV, and Paul Butterfield... not too shabby!
Speaking about influences Stevie was on the stage with two of the greats that influenced him . There is a cute story about Stevie and Albert King to make it short Stevie was at a club one night where Albert was playing and he bugged the owner until he asked Albert if Stevie could sit in and for the record NOBODY had EVER asked to sit in with him . So Albert thought it would not that too long to make a fool of Stevie but was blown away when Stevie got up there and played everything Albert did BUT better according to a story Albert told

I've heard Jimmy Vaughan say that Albert King didn't like anyone, but he liked Stevie. 🙂♥️
How can you NOT love the blues!!!!
Now that is what I call a jam session some of the greatest Blues players and singers EVER
Stevie has such love and reverence that he humbles himself to his heroes.. Paul Butterfield Blues band is another great.
If Freddie King would’ve walked out on stage and joined them my head would’ve exploded! 😂
More talent on that stage than all the combined artists today
SRV is the BEST. You feel that shit in your soul and you can tell his music flowed from a beautiful place.
Blues is by far the most sexy damn music on the planet!
RIP to all of those great legends on that stage.....
That was truly legendary ❤❤❤😊🎉🎉🎉
One of the highlights of my life. When in college I drove a limo and drove a lot of celebrities, but driving BB King was everything to me. He was SOOOO nice too. True Legend
Legends..thoroughly the best! Phenomenal
You should check Stevie Ray studio version. It's beautiful
Wow the talent on that stage
Saw Paul Butterfield Blues Band live waaaaay back in 1966. Yeah, lots of inter-band playing and sharing of the stage, and of songs and riffs back in the day. Even John Bonham and Keith Moon shared the stage....briefly and quite wildly, for a moment in time in L.A. As Robert Plant commented years later.....”there was no room for anyone else up there” when it happened. I think Moon was pretty wasted.
This was my introduction to SRV, around 28 years ago! It opened my eyes to an incredible talent, & the guy who told me about SRV, is himself, a great self-taught guitarist & songwriter. His name, Simon Hackett (blues) He has a ton of videos all over KZread, so check him out, I guarantee he'll impress you!
Love your reactions vid style. Still going to keep bugging you to react to SRV "Lenny, Live at El Mocambo" as long as you're on a SRV kick. It's a can't-miss. Really.
LEGENDS!
Stevie Ray Vaughan's greatest live performance of his life is "Life Without You" at Capitol Theatre. it will immediately replace your #1 SRV performance. In the sing he overcomes a unturned guitar, a broken tooth, & has to recalibrate his amps mid song, and it's still the best he ever played
Elmore James, King Of The Slide Guitar, originally did this song. Check out his version & other songs he does.
The first album I ever picked out myself after my folks have me a stereo for Christmas was Albert King. 1966.
Paul Butterfield is extremely great on that harmonica..explosively great performance from all these musicians
There is one king missing here, and that is Freddie King. Please, PLEASE search up Freddie King. Search up the song "Sweet Home Chicago". Freddie had it ALL, trust me. He had the guitar licks, he had a powerful and passionate voice, and body language that spoke volumes. He had a smile that could melt you. Unfortunately, he died terribly young. Check him out.
That was a JAM!!
Thanks thank you for this much luv
If it wasn't for Stevie, BB King and Albert King would not be on the same stage. They couldn't stand each other. But they both loved Stevie.
Mick Jagger plays a mean harmonica, so does Robert Plant; also Charlie Musselwhite plus the old players like Little Walter and Sonny Boy Williamson.

Tin Pan Alley with Johnny Copeland is a killer version!
Love love this...please react to Life Without You and Aint Gon Give Up On Love both live at The Capitol Theatre!!! You wont regret it🎶
In 6th grade I started playing saxophone, in 10th grade I realized trumpets were getting all the good parts, so I switched, then in my senior year I realized that guitarists get the girls and I heard this song............ I have played guitar since 1987
If you notice Albert is playing a fight handed guitar 🎸 upside down
You should watch the video by Gary Moore - " I Still Got the Blues for You "
A fellow lover of music.
Almost musical heaven!
Killer video. For killer harmonica you have to listen to Whammer Jammer by Magic Dick. They don't call him Magic for nothin.
The Goat
Hey dude please do (look at little sister)where Stevie Ray breaks string and changes guitars epic and when Stevie and Johnny copeland did tin pan alley do you are going to love it.
You want to really shake your head in amazement...look up Sister Rosetta Tharpe...
The MASTER! Where the Goats go to learn! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😂
If want to see raw talent watch his very last performance of SRV BB BING JIMMY VAUGHAN ERIC CLAPTON ROBERT CRAY and a couple more perform SWEET HOME CHICAGO at ALPINE THEATER IN WISCONSIN Then he left on that faithful helicopter ride to eternity
Check out Van Morrison - "Into the Mystic"...... another all time great!

...or The Allman Brothers Band (Warren Haynes and Derrick Trucks era of them) cover it is FANTASTIC too. Does not have the same originalist feel too it, but comes damn close, with extra guitar!
SRV always held back when he played with others that were his role model. Great video. Not the best for showcasing SRV. El Mocambo live is always SRV at his best.
Try blues traveler the song called hook if you like harmonica.
What year was this! I love me some Stevie... but dang! 😘
I know you're a SRV fan. Please react to ANY song from "Austin City Limits" from 1989. All are incredible, "Leave My Girl Alone" stands out the most, Thanks.
