a bit of Stevie R. trivia. the helicopter crash he died in in southern Wisconsin was supposed to have Eric Clapton instead of SRV as a passenger. they were on tour together and had just finished playing Alpine Valley (East Troy, Wis.) but there wasn't enough room for Clapton & his wife on that trip out so SRV took his place & paid for it with his life. Crazy but true.

Just like Waylon Jennings. He was supposed to be on the plane that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. The tour bus had no heat, it was winter time. Waylon lost a bet with Ritchie to see who would take the seat on the plane that had heat. So Waylon ended up on the bus, and we all know what happened to the plane. The Day The Music Died!!!

Not only does he manipulate the strings, but he used much heavier gauge strings than anyone else, but moved them as easy as the others did with much lighter, more flexible strings. Which makes his playing all the more amazing!!

Alot of people will hate this comment but. I always felt The Beatles always sucked but Inspired many. Without the Beatles you may not have some of the biggest rock groups as we know them. I think Hendrix is a hell of a guitar player who inspired Stevie . I just feel Stevie is way better. Srv just plays where you can feel his emotion through his playing and voice. I personally believe SRV is the greatest guitar player of all time. Just my opinion
