    I am a musician and guitars are my thing. I remember seeing all the Seagal hate and getting kind of numb to it and then it happened. Seagal was holding a guitar from his massive "collection" talking about how blues was in his DNA. It flowed from his fingers to the strings. It was at that POINT I finally knew what all the resentment about Seagal was about.

  • @IronArmPanda

    @IronArmPanda

    So you resent someone for being passionate about a subject? Because you choose to identify yourself as a musician that makes Seagals love for music irrelevant or something? Maybe work on yourself, but that's just my opinion.

    @@IronArmPanda He never said that, YOU did. It's called a straw man. You created a false version of his words and attacked that, because you had nothing else. And he doesn't "identify" as a musician. That's BS leftist double talk. He said he IS a musician, not "identified as". And you clearly know nothing about Seagal if you think he has a "love for music". It's BS like every other claim he makes. The only one here that needs "work" is you, you condescending, egotistical jagoff.

    This is not true. There are many martial artists that are "big" even after training hard for years, due to genetics and Thyroid problems. Seagal has a legit Thyroid condition, and it's confirmed by one of his kids. His daughter with Kelly LeBrock has Thyroid problems too, her weight goes up and down constantly, and she has trained BJJ for years.

    @@miesvaillanykyisyytta3252 Keep that energy when you're 71 years old. Seagal's weight has gone up and down many times, and he didn't really get truly "fatter" until he got past 65 years old. Consider this, he's now about 71 years old, and doesn't drink or smoke, never took steroids, hasn't had a single heart attack or stroke like other so-called "in better shape" people (Van Damme almost OD'ed from cocaine abuse, Stallone had multiple heart attacks, as did Arnold Schwarzenegger from steroid and HGH usage. Chuck Norris has serious medical problems, etc). Many of Seagal's contemporaries have passed away way before they even reached Seagal's age. So in the end, who's the healthy one here? Meanwhile, Seagal is 71 and can still move well and still trains martial arts, despite being a "big" guy. Are "fat" guys not legitimate martial artists now? So Cus D'amato had a big old belly as an old man. Is he not legit? Gene Lebell was fat after the age of 58. Was he not legit either then? What about Daniel Cormier? Big Country Roy Nelson? Carlson Gracie? Derrick Lewis?

    One of the greatest stories involving Sensei Seagull, comes from the producer of SNL. In the late 90´s, he was a guest host on the show and apparently he was so bad, that the episode he hosted is considered one of the worst, if not the worst SNL episode ever! You can find interviews by people like Bob Odenkirk, who was a writer for SNL back then, where he tells what an absolute chore it was, trying to write skits for the show, for Seagull to perform, because he didn´t get any of the jokes and was a total diva. Anyway, I digress... Couple of weeks later, they had Nic Cage as host for SNL. Cage was very unhappy about his performance, he thought he was really bad and told the producer: "Oh man, I´m so sorry, I was probably the worst host in SNL history..." The producer replied: "Oh quit whining around Nic, you weren´t even close to be as bad as Steven Seagal!" Couple of days later, Nic Cage called the producer and told him: "Well, I watched the Seagal SNL episode and oh my God you were absolutely right! I apologize for all my whining." 😄

    Seagal has been way too rough on stunt men indeed, but the man's martial skills are legit. There are many martial arts stuntmen that have verified this. The fact that there’s such a large and vibrant community of Sensei Shitstain fans absolutely warms my heart. Many thought that after his heroic battle with hyperphagia left him confined to a wooden chair, his career as an action hero that does his own stunts would be over. But he has given the gift of hope to everyone with limited mobility that dreams of performing stunts and be a successful actor without ever knowing your lines. You can literally just make something up and they’ll just dub over your boss it in post production.

  • @alexlantz

    @alexlantz

    Marketing is usually it is quite comparable, as far as I know. But studios never add I to production cost. So to be at zero profit, movies usually need to make at least twice as much as production cost. So to be at zero profit a movie with a budget with 50mil, it has to make at least 100 mil However, as some people noted here in comments as well, this one got some more additional cash from sells on DVD, which is fair enough.

    Exit Wounds fun film

  • @kyleolson8977
    @kyleolson8977 Жыл бұрын

    I don't want to defend Seagal, but I don't think the facts support the idea that Exit Wounds was a total flop, any kind of flop. At worst it's probably a push. You've got a production budget of $50 million while most sources list it as $33 million. P&A numbers are rarely listed and we don't know how much of the BO came back to the studio, but making about $80m, with $50m in the US, the film likely either broke even or had a small profit and the Box Office. The film would likely then become very lucrative on DVD in the very hot early 2000s home video market. Even if the production budget was $50m, the film would still have been a mild disappointment that made back money on video sales. What does a big flop look like in 2001? Final Fantasy made $85m on a $135m budget. Driven was $54m on $94m. Osmosis Jones as $14m on $70m. Town and Country made $10m on $90m! And American Outlaws did $13.5m on $33m on the same budget I have listed of $33m (for the same studio). All of these films would likely end up losing more money than the listed budget when the P&A plus other costs are considered. These are total flops. The last thing to consider is that Seagal was given the chance to make Half Past Dead, a more affordable attempt at the same elements. If Exit Wounds was a total flop, that film wouldn't have been made as a theatrical release.
