    I learned 2 things from this: 1) Crowder and a proportionally representative swath of the US is absurdly and comically racist.     It’s crazy to me that some people can’t grasp certain things about fictional characters. Characters like Luke Cage and T’Challa are only played by black actors because it is literally part of the character’s identity. Casting a white actor as T’Challa goes against the entire point of the character. The difference is that most of the time, white characters rarely have race as an integral part of their character, which is why there is merit to the idea of casting an actor of a different race in that role.

    The thing is, James Bond’s race was only ever explicitly stated in a single sentence in only one book (Live and Let Die). His character is written that his race is completely incidental, it’s his charisma and talent are the important aspects to his persona. Anyone can literally play them as long as they have the characterisation correct.

I'm sure there are plenty of young black British actors who'd love to be James Bond if given the chance. Daniel Kaluuya for example, great and recognizable actor, very good looking and is also 32 years old, he'd probably be a great Bond if he and the studio wanted.

    What happens if I tell you that James Bond series is actually based on a book that has a male Pacific lead in the books and the author,who is dead by the way, has said that James Bond is a male. He also went on to say that if they do change him into a female then the story would not make any lick of sense. So as a book reader myself, if you do change James Bond into a woman then you're basically being unfaithful to the books and you're basically going against the original author's promise to keep James Bond a male and not change them into a woman.

If it was constantly a rewrite of the same story from back then, I might MIGHT agree with you. But clearly, the producers are not on the same page.     @@Chspas the movies are set in the modern times but the character stays the same, the same way that a white man shouldnt play black panther, a black man shouldnt play james bond. Their characters are designed for people of certain colours and thats totally fine. If you start changing it because of the "times" then all you get is a shit story with its sole selling point being "come watch us we have diversity" like every other time its being tried
