If he was an actual good husband and his wife uses the im not happy excuse then i can feel bad for the dude. Of course im not saying she shouldn't have the right to divorce, she always should. But lets be honest, was Crowder a good husband probably, my guess in no. He probably is misrepresenting the whole situation, to make it seem that she is divorcing him for no good reason.

Steven has had no problem saying absolutely *awful* and *derogatory* things online about individuals and entire groups for *years*, and I honestly can't blame his wife one bit for thinking "I really can't stay with someone like that" regardless of her religious beliefs. Sure, we have no idea if that actually had any influence on it, or how he was at home, but regardless she's allowed to not commit herself to someone she no longer loves, and while Steven doesn't have to agree or even respect it, it's genuinely gross that his wording comes off as "It's unfortunate I can't legally force people to stay married to me".

So she decided she didn't want to be married anymore in 2021... and their twins were born in Aug 2021 👀 She decided to GO INTO A HOSTILE DIVORCE BATTLE WHILE NURSING TWO NEWBORNS. She must have had a GOOD reason. Just IMAGINE the situation, how much all that is. If the husband is even minimally bearable to be around, any woman would postpone the divorce thing until the children are at least toddlers. He must have been downright unbearable to spend even one more minute with. He is expressly stressing that there was no PHYSICAL abuse. Obvious reading of this is that there was a shit ton of emotional abuse. But another possible reading is that there WAS physical abuse and he is anticipating her accusations by swaying his audience's opinion beforehand.

Why do you think you have an accurate interpretation of what he was trying to communicate? As far as I understand, he identifies as a Christian, and Christians, the vows that they take is to death till us part and all that other nonsense. I'm not into that sort of stuff, but if you take a vow, specifically that vow, that's supposed to mean something. In other environments, when you take a vow and you break that vow, they can be significant consequences. Such as a doctor taking the hippocratic oath, or a police officer or military member, taking the oath to serve and protect, from all enemies, foreign and domestic. If you don't want to take that vow, then don't get married. Or at least exclude that from your marriage vows. This could very well be considered a topic of religious freedoms. I'm not saying he's a good person. But I am giving him the benefit of the doubt and not assuming that I understand he's points until I've had the opportunity to actually clarify them . You talk about your interpretation of his behavior being disgusting. I would say how you so quickly and easily throw people under the bus is disgusting. There's a book written by Anand Giridharadas called The Persuaders that you should read. Or at least listen to an interview with him explaining what his book is about.

What's worse than divorce is having an abusive partner and allowing your children to grow up believing abusive is how you treat your partner, or that abuse towards them in a relationship is normal. It is also not o.k. to believe you own someone you're in a relationship with. It's not o.k. to have things held over your head like transportation, a roof over your head, and the nastiest " I'll take your children if you leave". People out here toxic AF.

The funny thing is no one would even care about his divorce if he just had the self control not to make wack comments like he thinks it should be illegal for his wife to divorce him or that he thinks people are going to gossip about his kids being at fault for his divorce. Divorce is a normal thing. Being anti-divorce in general is a very unhealthy and harmful mindset. It's not healthy to want to be with someone who doesn't want to be with you, or to place the blame for the divorce on your partner when they're most likely divorcing you because of something you've done.
