Steve Senes - Bugera Trirec Quick & Dirty Demo

Музыка

Quick & dirty cell phone runthrough of a Bugera Trirec I picked up at a local pawn shop. I had heard with the Infinium system Bugera's developed you can swap to different tube types with no additional steps so I threw in a set of EL34s - Holy Crap! This thing sounds ridiculously good!!!!!!!

Thanks for the demo. I have an older Diezel VH4 with 4x12 Mesa cab. Wish these newer Bugera models had been around 15 years ago. I could have saved quite a bit of money, although I have no complaints with the Diezel other than having had to sell a kidney to get it, lmao!!!! j/k.

The Trirec definitely sounds really good. Man, I'd love to have a Diezel though - amazing amps from all I've heard. But I'm kinda attached to my kidneys LMAO!!!!!

I also have Bugera Trirec I am thinking of getting an H&k triamp mark III to run with it. The Trirec sounds great on its own

Nice review,I used to have the same problem with radio interference when I was renting a department,I asked a technician he told me it was the power outlets.i buy in that time a power conditioner and problem solved.now I moved and I don’t have any problem with power outlets anymore hope it helps cheers

Thanks for the tip!! I was plugged into a power conditioner in this video. - my issue was over the air interference. I fixed the problem by soldering one leg of a capacitor to the negative of the input jack and the other to a ring terminal I screwed (using one of the power transformer screws) to the chassis. Problem solved!

Just found this vid. Great tone, and GREAT playing. Could you elaborate on the guitar chain going on here?

Thank you for your kind words! The chain is just Guitar ---> Trirec. Nothing else as far as I recall. The head was sitting on a rack containing a TC G Major II but it's not in the chain. The speaker cab is a Mesa Rectifier 2x12 (not the current compact one, this one's from 2009) with Vintage 30s.

That amp looked like it was “COOKIN!!!” It was vibrating, so I’m guessing it was loud as hell-o there! Sounded really good. These Amos may just be sleepers, it seems… Best! ✌🏼

It was definitely a little loud ;-) Great sounding amp for sure. It appears they quit selling this, I suspect a lawsuit was involved as it's very close to the amp on which it's based.

@@TheGuitarNerdShow your playing adds a lot to the whole sound. I'd sure like to hear you break down some of the songs on your channel. Some from years back, like Ozzy and others, as your playing is absoloutly terrific! Maybe more to come...? Best to you Steve, and I'm now SUBBED. ✌🏼

They were JJ EL34Bs. I ended up putting 6L6s back in it though because that's more what I'm going for with this amp. I bought a new set of Bugeras 6L6s - sounds killer. Preamp tubes, I think, are stock. Sorry to be so vague but after buying this amp and discovering Bugera I kinda went on a spree & bought a 1960 Infinium and a V22 Infinium - both of which I swapped out some different tube types for testing - got a little confusing trying to keep up with everything LOL!!!! I hope to put up some new videos of all the new amps fairly soon so stay tuned!

YOu must be the only guy that likes the stock tubes. Bought by bugera v22 4 years ago and the power tubes were alright, I kept them around. But the pre amp tubes were not only different but one of them was way too noisy and the other one was way too trebly . The reverb tube was alright too.

I guess tube quality from Bugera varies. I also have a V22 and did do some comparisons with JJ and EH preamp tubes - with the amp running into one of my Suhr Reactive Load boxes and into my Apogee Ensemble Thunderbolt interface and through various speaker impulses hosted in Logic Pro X on my Mac. I recorded the results of various pre tubes and, after listening to the recordings of all the combinations, I ended up putting the stock pre tubes back in because they just sounded best.
