I'm crying at work.

In 2015 my company laid off a bunch of us on the day before my daughter was born and my wife went into labor. To say I was floored is an understatement. Literally 24 hours after I was laid off my daughter was in my hands. Here I was looking down at her not knowing what I was going to do to feed her. Looking back on it now it was such a blessing in disguise. I got to stay home for 8 weeks with my wife and help her with our newborn. I also was able to network and find a new career path. Now I am making 3x the money I was making before and I can work from home most of the time. I never would have made the move myself but being "pushed out" changed my life for the better.

Some don't believe in fate and destiny sometimes because of the existence of chance. I believe they both exist together. Fate and destiny are the bigger things in life that's supposed to happen. Just happened to me. So toxic environment and myself being unhappy. Finally got the push. Anger, sadness, and relief right now, but I know it’s for the better.

It’s the “based on your grades, we’ll pay for the second semester.” That’s very important. Steve helping the man out is awesome. Always put your work in. Bet the guys gonna go work for Gordon Ramsey one day.

Absolutely LOVED it when she said, "we'll pay for 1st semester...and based on his grades, we'd pay for the 2nd". NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. This is how you help/motivate people.

I have a lot of respect for Steve. I watch him throughout the years help the human race proceed with a lot of things. It takes one person to make this world a even more beautiful place .Even if you don’t have much to help others, it means a lot to someone else that has nothing. I was in this mans shoes. 43 years old, laid off by the company I served for 19 years. Lost, 350 applications later, defeated. Steves video "Jump" inspired me to change paths. I started my own company, pressure washing! No where near the industry I had been in my entire life. "we dont jump, we get pushed" its what got me out of fast food and now working a government job. just one day i had had it, i had a mental breakdown, so instead of freaking out in public i walkout out to my car. proceeded to scream at the top of my lungs, lit a cigarette, boss comes out and doesnt even want to understand just fires me on the spot. after that i promised myself i would never work fast food again EVER. working for parks in austin is such a better job. i couldnt have asked for a better oppertunity than travis county gave me. ive already solidified that im retiring from this job and its only been a year.

Steve is a GREAT man.

"Somebody helped me out once." We all have that somebody who helped us out. We all know how grateful we are for that person. Let's all be that person for someone else in any small way possible.

What a blessing! What a man. Mr. Harvey just changed this man’s life. He could have brushed it off, given a lackluster response, and moved on with the episode. Instead he chose to truly listen, empathize, share a message about faith, and then help. I have so much appreciation for his sincerity towards another human, another stranger. The world needs more of this. Just imagine if more celebrities, and more of us did this. The world needs more of this respect, communication, love, faith, and community!

"The fear of succeeding" So very true. He got laid off because God wanted him to start a new chapter, a new season, in his life. Brought tears to my eyes when he went to hug Steve for awarding him tuition for the first semester of Culinary school and depending on how well his grades are, he will be awarded tuition for the 2nd semester. Nothing makes you cry more than seeing tough men cry

This man's story and Steves words are my life for the last 6 years. My wife passed after 30 years together. my mom passed about a year later. I got released from a job that I excelled at for 20 years. Then God "pushed" me into a new job with a 25% wage increase, doing what I love to do and people that I love working with. I will be able to retire in 2 years. But no one here wants to see me do that. What I`m trying to say is that, God can bring great blessings out of complete tragedy. I know, I have lived it.

This was incredibly touching. Steve is a good man, a real one. He knows what it's like to suffer, and he gives back to help those who are suffering. That's really the best you can do with your life.

Dam Steve. That's made me share a tear or two. After 8 years in prison. Coming home getting divorce 2 times. And listening to Steve Harvey everyday gave me the strength I need to never give. God put people in your life for a reason and you don't have to know them personally. yeah absolutely I’ve been married for 32years I was 24 and she was 20. She got cancer in 2020 I was totally lost without her. She took a major hit the treatment was horrible for her. I could do nothing to change any thing so I felt helpless.. I miss her everyday. Mothers are the glue that holds everyone together. seeing this makes me miss her even more I come to this page all the time just to have that nostalgia 🥺🥺

Imagine if there was a news station only showing us humans treating each other with love and respect. America is a great place. Sometimes it is hard to give help and to also except help. But what a beautiful thing when it happens.

Wow...what a tear jerker!

Aside from all the problems we suffer in life... I admire how Steve takes only a few seconds to calculate what he's gonna say next and what he says is wisdom. Not everyone can respond the way he does.. he has been through situations in his life and knows whats going on.

Steve Harvey is one of the main reasons why I’m still in college pursing Law School. He’s is the best mentor, blessing, & motivational person. It’s amazing to see how much he gives back and goes out his way to teach & help others!!!
