Yeahhh, it got me a bit choke up because I watch a lot of their interviews and when Kerr had to talk to Klay and telling him how he should enjoy the journey and stop forcing shots. He was really there for Klay for the bad times and walk him through it, like a father. I would’ve love to have someone like that, as a mentor

It's not really a difficult thing to understand. HoF player has major injuries, takes lesser role, but not less money because he still believes in himself. It would be awesome if as a thank you for paying him when he couldn't play, he took less so they can spend it on making the team better, but I get the why me vibe.. he wasnt swinging at any teammates or getting kicked out of games for being a clown. So he bet on himself. Not sure we will see vintage Klay in Dallas, but there is definitely a chip on his shoulder. Hopefully we'll get some serious mean mug Klay performances next season onward. Dallas vs Gstate gonna be 🔥 bring your rain gear cuz it's gonn be splashin on both ends of the court. 💦

if a younger player without potentially career ending injuries and a projected upside had those numbers, it would be in the discussion. i have no idea what it’s like to play professional basketball after an acl and achilles, and I don’t want to know lol. but it’s hard to bet on klay improving significantly back to the player he was in 2019.
