This is my second documentary I have watched and I can tell you thie man purely loved animals. His passion and selflessness commands respect. It's sad he died too early

If this amazing Australian was still with us he would be doing so much for the animals and people affected by the bushfires. God bless him and His family. I'm getting nervous though just watching this when they are close to the water.

@@anthonys5170 no Anthony - Steve was a bit of a maverick (which is wot made him unique) but he KNEW dangers of hovering over a Stingray... that tail is lethal! I dived off Oudekraal & Smitwinkel Bay in Cape Town and was warned of and so aware of dangers... eg. never walked on seabed - these creatures lie in wait under sand - always stayed clear of their tail - deadly spear - it's their defence mechanism...always felt safe amongst seaweed 'forests'... friendly seals were the most fun - had to surface once as cldn't stop laughing at their curiousness... mistook us for family in our black wetsuits... Sentient beings one and all... Steve wld be the last person to blame any creature for doing what it did naturally... watched a few "near misses" between Steve and dangerous creatures... with him laughing and admitting taking chances... what a wonderful legacy he's left in his lovely children & honey of a wife... great resurrection on the cards - not for nothing he influenced our lives like he did... R.I.P. great man...

What a tragic loss. My sons grew up watching Steve and we were all devastated when he passed. My heart still goes out to his family. It's beautiful that they have carried on his legacy.

I loved Steve so much growing up as a kid, and still do today. Grew up on his incredibly inspiring work and TV shows since I was small... That’s amazing I seriously commend you I’ve always been interested in orangutans but never knew what field or how to pursue it (even though I went to college for automotive) I seriously commend you and hope you have a good career. I as well looked up to Steve Irwin and his show as a kid. Steve died when I was 8 my father died when I was 10. I know my dads up there trying to hang out with him all the time 😂

Steve would be so proud of his son for continuing his legacy.

This is the most intense wildlife documentary I have ever watched. Hats off to you Steve Irwin

I don't know about others but I feel hollow after Mr. Irwin passed away. I do thank the makers of this channel as it does help fill the etched out void for a few moments and brings subtle peace to the happy memories. I thank Steve Irwin and his crew that always stuck it out. I for one miss Mr. Irwin.

Yeah not really... what ended up happening to him should have been no surprise to anyone and almost happened to him sooooo many times before that moment (like the time he was trying to capture a croc and it snagged his hand and pulled him into the water, but luckily he managed to land feet first on top of the croc and it let go because if he had landed any other way it would have deathrolled with him) as they say “you can only play with fire so many times and for so long before you get burned”

Only the legend would come up with a genius idea to try and teach a beast in nature about fisherman 🙌 shows you he has true love for crocs and all nature

When I first watched his programs I didn't like but after a while I grew to respect him and enjoy when he was on. Absolutely shocked when he was killed

I first seen Steve on animal planet when I was about 8 or maybe 10 years old. I’ve seen every single episode so much I developed a slight accent. I’m 31 now and I miss him just as much as the day he left this world. The Irwin’s are amazing!

Literally one of my only ever hero’s. The reason why I love animals

I, too, cried when Steve died. So ironic, to die from something other than a croc. The Ray was just doing what they do in defense. Maybe he got a scare, or, didn't like invaders near him. Anyway, the Ray can't be blamed. In case anyone is interested there are two, three hour, live, interactive safaris filmed in Djuma, Sabi Sands, Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa. The guides never interfere with the animals, other than driving the safari vehicles. We are invited to ask the guides questions and can get live, real time, answers from them! We can also comment. The animals who are in that huge area become habituated to them, making viewing them possible since most don't run away. It's a private, unfenced wildlife preserve. The animals are never touched and never fed by humans. It's a fantastic way to observe the lives of the many animals who call Djuma (including Kruger, and several other connected private, unfenced preserves. There are the "regulars," animals that have territories in and around Djuma, in the Sabi Sands area. There are several leopards which are seen regularly and we ( viewers) get to see their lives lived the way that wild nimals should live -free, no fences. There is a large lion pride with 10!! young cubs!! 😀 Cuteness overload! lol The two fathers enjoy hanging out with the pride. These particular males have extreme patience with the cubs It's amazing to see! There is also the Djuma spotted hyena clan which has, as of late, been going through a major upheaval because the matriarch was badly injured and could no longer return to the clan with that rank. So, lower ranking females moved up and one is, we think, the new matriarch. Much to our relief, and to our surprise, the former matriarch is much better and continues to heal. It's been months. And, lots more! There are elephants, giraffes, several species of antelopes, wildebeests, etc. and many, many interesting birds, including eagles, hawks owls (Spotted Eagle Owls have three week old owlette!), kites, and all sorts of other incredible species! So, if you're interested, go to the ••••> "WildEarth" ("wildearth.tv.)" KZread channel for the link to the safaris when they're live, and to choose recordings of previous safari drives. There is also a wonderful, moderated, family friendly chat stream. I am in the Pacific Time Zone, in California. The drives begin at 6am - 9am (Sunset Safari) and, 7pm - 10pm (Sunrise Safari). You will see "Live" when it's live. Another way to observe the Djuma wildlife is to watch the 24/7 live cam where animals drink, soak (hippos), and roll in mud (at one of the two water pans (pans are manmade water holes). •••> [I get there by doing a KZread search for "Djuma dam cam."
