    I dislike snakes, but I think it's very sweet how respectfully Steve treats each one. He handles them with great care, and approaches them slowly so as not to scare them. It's very cute.

    Mary Graham had snakes that hung out near my house growing up. They always tried to avoid us and they ate mice, so we never messed with them.

    I use to think snakes were just A holes but after watching Steve's documentaries he really did change my whole perspective on snakes and just nature in general 😔

    I've always been creeped out by them, but fascinated at the same time. I could watch videos of Steve handling them all day yet I have no desire to do it myself.

    Still sadly missed RIP Steve. But it's so lovely to see his son Robert take up his torch as well as the rest of the crew at the zoo who continue to work helping the animals.

    No one else like him. There's just something so different about him. His heart and soul were in love with wildlife. He knew how to handle animals skillfully, but respectfully.

    We lost an international treasure when we lost Steve. His blood ran just as cold as the reptiles he handled but his heart was full of warmth.

    i miss him every day when he was at aus zoo he would stay for about an hour talking to you about the animals his dedication was to tech and educate people about the animals. they dont follow his legacy not at all. they need to actually follow his legacy. back when he was at the zoo he would be outside that crocasium and at the croc pens. and would spend about 45mins at each pens

    I named my Hilux after Steve, because he went on and on about toyotas. They are good rigs, and I am always happy when people recognize the plate name reference
