I think we can all agree that Steve looks very good for his age.

He plays very good for his age too. Plus you should see his mum! Mrs. Hackett senior. She was at Aylesbury 13 September 2022. Must be over 90.

@@davebellamy4867 She is. She was at the front at the Hammersmith gig a couple of days ago. Amazing.
Steve makes himself very accessible to fans through these interviews. And I am sure this is a thrill for the interviewer. “Life is a never ending tour.”
Can't wait till 16th of May. I've been to every gig he's done in Oslo. Always kick-ass events.
Absolutely love Steve Hackett. One of the greatest guitarists ever. From Genesis to his solo stuff and yes even GTR. I still think if you get a 4th interview I would be curious to know if he enjoyed doing that album or not. Still one of my all time favorites. I am definitely going to have to get to one of the shows on this tour. Foxtrot is the paramount Genesis album. Great interview Barry.

I share the same birthday as Steve, and it's TODAY (12th)! Hope he has a good one.
My 2 favourite gigs this year were Foxtrot at 50 in my hometown of Swansea, Steve and the band were incredible, the other was Pat Metheny at the Eventim Apollo, two wonderful guitar players!!!
I can't wait to see Steve again!
Brilliant! Thanks Barry. Steve is such a legend. I love his work with Genesis, love his solo albums and have seen him live many times. Looking forward to seeing him at Cropredy this year performing Foxtrot (and more I hope).
So enjoyable listening to Steve.
Fantastic job!! Love that Steve Hackett!!
Great interview Barry! Steve Hackett is always very interesting to listen to.
See you in Orlando in April Steve, cant wait. You are fantastic. Great musician and intelligent. Barry you are awesome of all the great people you get for interviews. Good interviews.
Love Steve ❤️ Already bought my ticket to see him in Florence!
One of the finest guitarists and innovators to have ever lived. His guitar work in Genesis fits so well and adds so much. Really enjoyed his playing on GTR's album as well. "Hackett to Bits" is excellent! Great interview! Thanks Steve!
Thanks Barry, great interview, loving the Channel and ongoing reviews/ interviews

Have you seen Steve's Foxtrot gig? Well worth going!
Great that Steve's commemorating Foxtrot 50th anniversary. For me Horizons will always be integral with Supper's Ready - a shame that it wasn't included, there was no decent reason why it shouldn't have been and it was/is a superb introduction. Also such a shame that Genesis didn't follow 50th anniversaries in the same box/book set that Jethro Tull and Marillion did. Unfortunately, and sadly, I think (IMHO) they let worldwide fans, and themselves, down there. They seem to be so precious when it comes to releasing old and unheard material. The box sets that they have released don't contain much new material and are inaccessible to many fans because of the exorbitant prices. Fingers crossed that they might see sense in the future.

Unfortunately Tony Banks doesn’t hold the early material in such high regard as we, the fans, do. I’ve read that there are hundreds of hours of soundboard recordings so why haven’t those been released by now? They could and should compile those in box sets similar to what King Crimson did with their Starless and Road to Red sets. Oh well, we can wish and dream that this stuff will see a proper remastering and mixing.

@@chrisschrecker5497 Unfortunately your assessment of the problem is accurate. Both Banks and Rutherford have little interest in curating the old material.

@@harrynewiss4630 We're fortunate to have Steve and his guys play it now in 2022. Steve is the curator.
Under a Mediterranean Sky AND Surrender of Silence. When the history books are written, it is quite possible that 2021 will be called the high point of Steve Hackett's career.
I think once banks brought the synth in it pushed Steve to the background. It filled everything out so it must of been frustrating trying to chime in over those thick sounds.
Cropredy August 2022! Could this be the first Gig of this Foxtrot Tour? We can only wait and see.
Seeing him again in 2 months.
2022 Foxtrot at 50 2023 Live plus Selling England at 50 2024 Lamb at 50 2025 Trick at 50 2026 Wuthering at 50 2027 Seconds Out at 50. Steve could then retire on it!🤣👍😊
I'm curious to see what idea he will come up with in 2024, if he's still touring, which coincidentally will be the 50th anniversary of the Lamb lies down on Broadway. I doubt he would play it live in its entirity for several reasons : it is a double album, it is so much associated to Gabriel playing the roles of characters in the album in various costumes, it is more a keyboard based album rather than guitar, it has strict production visual elements that need to be sticked to,...I can't imagine he would just skip it though, having been so regular over the recent years in celebrating the Genesis albums and TLLDOB being such a landmark album. I'm just curious what he will be doing out of it. Or maybe nothing will just happen apart from a re re re remastered re re release by the record company and/or a boxed set including both the studio version and the re release of the live version that was issued in the 1998 box set. Nothing for sure will happen as a band (Gabriel will be busy with his new album/tour, not a good timing for one who doesn't like to "go back" as he often points it out) and the other 3 have retired from touring as Genesis.
