I got my Sig:X in 2009, when I was just 19 years old! I've loved every second of playing through it over the past fifteen years. I know the original Deliverance was a sort of simplification of the Sig:X, so I'm really excited to see how the new Deliverance 120 is going to sound next to my old faithful.

SOOO cool to hear that people heard and felt what you painstakingly spent time to develop! But, not as cool as getting a shoutout from your favorite amp designer and manufacturer : ) Can't wait for tomorrow's show gents. Cheers!

Listening through the web...I sense connectivity of feel, dynamics, clarity. distinction, and while it is a large piece of equipment, there is something about the iron and weight of the physical presence that aligns with the resulting tone. Being a former VHT UL owner of close to 25 years, I can vouch for the quality and durability. As far as the tone, pretty much every time I played out, at least one person would come and ask me about the VHT. These days, I write and record mostly at home and have found the genius of Steve's knowledge evident in the PS2-A, and it sonically imparts a touch of that mighty VHT I hold so fondly in my memory. Certainly, I look forward to reclaiming a Fryette amp back into the fold. Malcontents are indeed spread out through the expanse of the galaxy articulating sonic dexterity through the engineering of Fryette. Still think about Steve's story of tinkering with vacuum repair as a kid and how that led him here.

That new version Delivance 60 is a great amp! The clean articulation is fantastic and the rich overdrive is so great. Fryette guitar amps are leading edge technology in the tube guitar amp world!

@@josephrusso7069 Hi Joseph, I own a number of Friedman amps. So I really love how Friedman amps sound. They are clearly centered in the Marshall lineage of tones, but with Dave's refinements and innovations. In general, they sound not quite as bright and immediate as Marshall amps. Which I love in Marshalls. But they are all Really great sounding amps. Fantastic edge of breakup and distortion tones. The Fryette Deliverance amp is influenced from Hiwatt amps designer David Reeves, with refinements and innovations from Steven Fryette. To answer your question, Fryette and Friedman amps are both great! I consider Steven and Dave to be two of the very best guitar amplifier designers on the scene today. So it really comes down to the tones you prefer.

I have a iicp synergy module and it's the best sounding one I have . I also have a fryette lxii and it's the best amp I have (sounds amazingly alive at 9:00 on volume and above). Triaxis sounds best with it in flat or enhanced in any way. I have a mesa mark III no stripe I typically use for slave, a stereo simulclass 2:90, have owned a mesa fifty fifty, hands down the lxii beats them all. It is my preferred amp when making Kemper profiles. Best sounding 6l6 power section around.

Does the series two have a LTP phase inverter or Cathodyne? Was that the difference between Series 1 D60 and D120?

  • @FryetteAmps

The SII D60 and D120 use a voltage follower driven DC coupled LTP. 1st gen D60 is cathodyne. 1st gen D120 is cathodyne driven voltage follower.

Undoubtedly a great amp but I wonder if the enormous size is really necessary. This thing is huge and it probably weighs a ton too. The Soldano SLO 30 for example is only around half the size of this one. I think practicality and portability is something amp builders shouldn’t overlook if they want to stay competitive with all the modellers out there.

@@josephrusso7069 hells yeah, Fryettes can do it all and do it excellent. They really are so underrated. Try to find a used Fryette Sig X. Nobody sells them. And UltraLeads are impossible to find. As much as I love my Marshall, EVH, Mesa amps and Kemper profiler, nothing can fade Fryette stuff. Soon as the new sig x comes out I'm buying it. But deliverance 120 is bad ass to.

Is the Effects loop on the Deliverance 120II after the master volume control? I play with a looper pedal and I noticed that play back on my pre-recorded loops that i made with my Pittbull are devastating loud when played through my deliverance. Also noticed that I can turn the amp down all the way and my looper will still come through at full volume.
