I had a D120 for years. It was by far my most used and favorite amp when I was playing out. I had mine modified with a pentode/triode switch and a half power switch. Super versatile and so easy to dial in. Man I miss that thing.

Was on the fence with this head and the HIWATT Super Hi-50. Ended up going with the HIWATT butt, will eventually pick this one up. Great video BTW \m/

This is easily one of the best sounding amps I've heard. Super dry and punchy. Love that tone!

thats my fav model in the axe fx as well. my bands album was all recorded with that model and the archon one. the deliverance has a great property that allows chords to sound clear even in low registers even 3rds and 4ths while still having a high gain distorted sound

I really don't know how I only just found your channel, but I'm glad I did! The way you add cartoons/little skits and shit to everything....that's what my brain does all day anyway, whether I want it to or not, so same, lol. Also, got my dream amp in Feb 2021, so I know what you mean! (Fender Super Bassman 300 with the matching 8x10 neo cab, and YES I use it for guitar, and it's BRUTAL) The way you know it's truly your dream amp is if you still get butterflies in your stomach turning on the standby switch and waiting for the tubes to warm up over two years later....YUP! It's still the honeymoon phase for me. It's that good.

I have a Series II D60 with the new Deliverance 2x12 cab in my collection. What an amazing amplifier. You can play anything with it, but it slays at metal, especially when boosted. The midrange control is the most powerful tone shaper, and it has the best master volume I've used.

The old vht pitbull head s and the deliverance in this video were so underrated. I used to play one with a basson 4x12 cab and a marshall 1960 cab with overdrive, gate, and equalizer

@@TaylorDanley Try a Fryette cab loaded with Fane F70G's if you want an improvement over the P50E's. The F70 is probably my new favorite speaker.

I love how the note separation is still very clear even with the gain way up.

went through something similar, i've owned the SIG:X twice in the past, but didn't really bond with them , looked for a Deliverance for 5-6 months (harder to find in EU), finally found a first run d60 (with the choke) and a further 3-4 months to find a VHT fatbottom 2x12 cab, all set =) i'd really recommend trying these out through the VHT/Fryette cabs with the p50e speakers, makes quite a difference, since migrating to digital it's what i use on the Fractal as well, not sure how the two notes /attenuation is affecting the amp tone in the demo, they are incredibly loud in any case , dry/unforgiving but incredibly rewarding to play

Yes!!! My pitbull, guitars with m7 pickups, and a direwolf overdrive not only decimate but does so with the most insane note clarity I've ever heard, and the mids will cut thru anything

So much better with the passives. The weight of the tone comes back. The voicing knob is cutting lows when it's below noon so if you're running a TS, you should try adding them back in by raising the voicing knob so the tone doesn't get too thin.

Thanks good to know. There's definitely more dynamic range with the passives and it makes the amp more responsive. Love my EMG's though, so I couldn't see this being a permanent thing lol.

I dream of getting my Hughes and Kettner back, it was a Grandmeister 40 and yeah it isn’t the flagship but if you chuck a HXFX in the effects loop then you can load whatever IR you want and be done with it, it has a built in load box. It could sound like anything with a graphic EQ in the effects loop.

I definitely need to grab one of these eventually. I would not hesitate to buy the current Fryette model though. Steve Freyette (who originally started then sold VHT, but now owns and runs Fryette Amplification) really knows his shit, and he is obsessive about tone and building things right. So, he isn't going to put out anything that isn't awesome.

Congrats dude! Bucketlist gear is always special. I felt similar after finally being able to afford my LTD SN-1. Off topic, but have you ever made a tutorial or video on that Torpedo Captor? I ask because I've had mine for years and it sounds like actual garbage no matter what I do.

Hmm, I don't think I have, but it's pretty straight forward... The thing that they don't tell you is that if you are plugging a 120w amp into it, you need to keep the volume low so you don't overload it. If you do, then you can fry the internal components. IDK if that helps.

I'd love to be able to try this amp on my Kemper. Sounds sick, Taylor!

There's a profile by Sven Janssens called BEAR Deliverance that's a good starting profile, just add a studio graph EQ and a gate/green scream and you can get just as good of a tone and more lol I'll share you my rig if you want and you can do a A/B comparison to be blown away 🫶🏽

The less mode with gain knob 1 only sounds like it would be great fodder for a distortion pedal, running with an HM-2 or boosting with a RAT or Swollen Pickle or something. This would be a great amp to use 2 of them in a configuration with one TS9 boosted and the other with some chainsaw.

Actually my dream amp it's a tiny marshall g10mk2 trhough a 12 inch cekestion g12l 8 ohm from a valvestae cab. Not for this brutal genre but for doomy blackish metal it's very good indeed. If you can try one 😊😅

@@TaylorDanley If you ever get a chance to play a Fryette/VHT Pittbull I think you'll love the shit out of those amps too. Similar core voicing, just more options (mid shift, built in boost, two slightly differently voiced high gain channels, effects loop, low and high inputs) as well as a graphic EQ for extra fine tweaking of your tone. I'd say they're even tighter than the Deliverance.

So sick dude. I know what you mean by it being bone dry and why we want that as a metal guy.

To me it's kind of like, it's easier to add to than take away, and with this amp as a foundation, you can really dial in the way the gain sounds and feels.

Yeah that wasn’t cheap but I got what I wanted and I told myself when I am in a good financial position I will buy the gear! Now I own a fender yjm strat, his dod YJm308 pedal and the fender one too and FINALLY his Marshall yjm 100 😎

Your comparison to a JCM 800….well I think is off by a lot. I’ve never heard a JCM 800 sound like what you’re trying to convince me or others of…though I would agree that it sounded like. Jacked up Marshall. A super modded up Marshall but not a JCM 800.

Honestly I'm realizing that this meter might be more confusing than it is helpful. Like I had the mini amps up to 115db according to this, but this amp at 80db hurts my ears. No idea why...

Perfect amp....serial effects loop always on, one channel clean to overdone metal tone with the sweep of the gain knob and the ability to get a banging crunch tone that cleans up with the volume knob of the guitar and goes to super lead tone with just a boost pedal...THIS IS NOT THAT AMP!!! This is a one thing period amp...overblown metal...and THIS DOES NOT DO JCM 800...THAT IS AN IGNORANT THING TO SAY

All things being equal that is THE WORST clean tone EVER!!!!!!!!
