I grew up living one block from one of these and I recall that exact cool high pitched Sterling sound with the little bit of vibrato on the top end, very nice .. good memories, thanks

wish I could be as lucky as you. Though I do own a Sterling Model M48 siren. Unlike the M shown here, mine is an 8/16 port model

Nice restoration! Tho im afraid that the louvers are restricting alot of intake air for the rotors

Since I don't think many actually know, this siren is located on a steel tower mounted to the roof of Wyndmoor Hose Company #1, in Wyndmoor P.A. It can't be viewed from the front of the building, since the section of the roof it mounts to is on the rear of the building, and lower than that of the front.

why would you ruin that piece of History you should be ashamed of yourself you should have painted it its original fire siren color no one looks around for sirens except for a siren enthusiast and half the people in this world don't even see sirens mounted in places!!! it's such a shame that you would ruin a beauty... this severely upsets me that you didn't paint it a cherry red with silver...that would have looked WAY COOLER and if you want to support tit cancer you should have put it on a dang sign!!!! if you really want to support it that's what you would do not put it on a damn siren! why don't you respect the fact that that was in service for bad fires.... I am very ashamed that you ruined this piece of History I bet the next Siren you'll paint will have rainbows on its supporting LGBTQ.... why don't you give its old characteristics back...damn..

it was literally restored to full working condition, it works, it makes a big noise, thats all that is required of it. The purpose of a siren isn't to look cool, but rather call to firefighters or alert people of danger. shut up fuckin nerd
