    if you put a big gear on the central rotating pole. that goes to multiple smaller gears. you wouldn't only make the magnets rotate faster. but also have room for up to 10 times more magnets. depending on the size of the first gear. just something I thought about.

    Well my friend. That was an awesome video. I have also done a ceiling fan conversion and the playlist is on my channel. I love the idea of using microwave oven transformer with the I removed. I never thought of that at all. I am looking forward to your next video my good friend. Whatever it is. Maybe some form of earth power using the ground itself and not earth in cups. Have a great day my good friend.

    Great stuff! It would be interesting to see how one can use this to charge up batteries or generate power for practical use of electricity generated. For examplehowto wire up an outlet to run an appliance or maybe a breaker box for off grid living.

    Would you run into an issue with the bearings? I'm not familiar with bearing structure on something like this, but being that ceiling fans are designed for horizontal operation and not vertical placement, it seems possible that it might not function efficiently.

    You need to take this into consideration yes. On average you can count on the fact that the generator will spin as much in one direction as it will in the other. This means you will probably not have to bother with sliding contacts (more brushes). Your wires will need to be long enough though to allow for a few full rotations.

    Hi, great videos. I have a petrol driven 240volt generator. The petrol motor was stolen but I still have the generator, which I am planning to attach to a home made pelton wheel. I appreciate that I need above 1000 rpm to make this work. That shold not be a problem. What I would like to know is what stops this generator from burnng itself out when there is no load drawing off the electricity. I shall be grateful to know what I need to do to get this working safely. Robert Denton

    Washing machine motor to wind generator? Could you try that or tell us why it won't work. People in Europe have been doing it with some success for hydro. I was hoping to find someone who has done it with wind but I can't. These have many coils and perm magnets. Thanks.

    A lawnmower motor isn't exactly low RPM. You need one with both low RPM as well as high power input. This will give you high power output at typical wind speeds.

    also, a few more items that are food for thought. First, if the bloody thing was a motor to start with, you should not need to add magnets. Think about it. When you removed the rotor - or stator, depending upon which way you view it and which part you hold stationary - look, you either removed magnets that were already there...think about it...or you removed coils that were excited either by supply electricity or a very small portion of generated electricity or by electromagnetic induction. THINK about it. Yes, I'll do a video myself, but you're already way ahead of the game, I can't even afford a web cam right now. And, yes, there are generators that use what are called excited windings; look up "self-excited shunt-wound DC generator " on wikipedia. So, anyone reading this who does not have magnets and who doesn't have a welder - and even if you don't have a soldering gun, just use wire-nuts - there is always a way to use a motor as a generator without throwing valuable components away, and having to buy magnets, and having to buy either a welder or a soldering gun. The desire for wind-generated power is probably causing an uptick in consumerism of welders and soldering guns as I write. Second, or third from my first post below, criminey, just like the other poster will you please learn to solder correctly for Heaven's sake? Another bloody dabber. It's not a glue-gun, mate, it's a soldering gun. Please see my comment other video for clear instructions on how to solder.

    Obviously the turning of the generator into the wind is meant. In practice, the wires do not turn up more than a few times in one direction before the wind turns such that it unwindes again. You simply account for it by using longer wires. No need for brushes or sliding contacts at the generator base.

    is there a way to store the energy besides just batteries? Like in car audio, doesn't a capacitor store the energy or does it not store it while it's off? Does something like a generator store it, or basically will just need batteries, huh? I better learn how to build batteries, now....

  • @AmazGraz

    @AmazGraz

    7 жыл бұрын

    Capacitors store a charge, but it is super quickly depleted. If someone had a capacitor that was large as a car then the power would last for a while. However, I recently read that someone has invented a new high density capacitor that stores more energy in a smaller space. Lots more. I wish I had bookmarked it but I didn't. I don't know how long it will be before we hear anything more about it.

    good work, but your vision is too limited. Why would you imitate the horizontal bladed turbines that kill birds and present a hazard to everyone around when they come apart from wind or age? I would encourage you to do the same idea but in a vertical format that is safe. Oh, alright, I'll do it, but it's going to take me awhile to get it all together, you could do it next week. Love to see you rise up a bit in consciousness, mate.
