This is a comedy routine disguised as a Chinese lesson!
Can't believe you guys go through the trouble of adding subtitles with pinyin and tones for your videos. These are an amazing tool for learning and a big effort on your part!

this video taught me how important is your place of origin to the Chinese, they have a lot of stereotypes and myths about people from other places, this means that if you do something wrong (or good) you might easily become the stereotype for your people in their eyes
This is by far my favorite podcast on this channel, it's both hilarious and informative since I had been wondering about Chinese province stereotypes of one another. Thanks so much for the upload!
I so enjoy this. I hate learning how to buy a train ticket. I love learning how Chinese people have fun. This is the best Chinese learning material I've come across ever, paid or free!
Jonas and Gwen are amazing guests! as always, good job, Eileen ) hopefully, we'll see more of this trio in the upcoming podcasts ))
Oh, this is going to be epic! Chinese have very strong preconceptions about other Chinese from different ethnic groups/regions/cities in China!
Jonas is fkin hilarious lmao. I laughed my ass off at that out of nowhere pee outside question
Hello dear Eileen. since 2018 I always watch your videos the same day you make release. I remember your first videos and always comparing them to your recent ones. I notice that you somehow manage to make progress in every video, like main topic, your attitude, new guests, sound and video post production quality. I m 100% sure all your experience and work will help you to realize big projects that you have in mind.
Good content! And great work to whoever transcribes and translates everything!
It's so sweet that at 7.10 you advise us to slow down the video if necessary
Thank you for another amazing upload, and God bless you Eileen!
Teacher, Your all podcasts are really useful. Glad to see you in happy mood.
Awesome video. Well done. Thanks for all the added explanations and pictures etc, really good work Enjoyed it a lot :)

Great video. Jiāngxī Jonas is hilarious! Sichuan Guy: "Pa'erduo? You're kidding! At home, I can do whatever I want! If I want to wash dishes, I wash dishes; if I want to cook, I cook; if I want to mop the floor, I mop the floor, and if I don't want to smoke, I don't smoke! See if she dares say anything!" 耙耳朵? 搞笑! 在家里面我想做啥子就做啥子, 我想洗碗就洗碗, 我想做饭就做饭, 想拖地就拖地, 想不抽烟就不抽烟. 她敢管我妈! Pā'ěrduǒ? Gǎoxiào! Zàijiā lǐmiàn wǒ xiǎng zuò sházi jiù zuò sházi, wǒ xiǎng xǐ wǎn jiù xǐ wǎn, wǒ xiǎng zuò fàn jiù zuò fàn, xiǎng tuō dì jiù tuō dì, xiǎng bù chōuyān jiù bù chōuyān. Tā gǎn guǎn wǒ mā!
This video is very interesting. Hope that you will make more. Thanks
My Mandarin is really poor, not quite good enough to be basic but I really enjoyed this video. Your trio is very entertaining. Jonas is the comic and Gwen is the straight man and Eileen is the audience representative. Great setup.
This may be the best episode yet!!!!!!

Another great video, knowing more about China make us want to learn Mandarin well. Please keep up with the good work.
This seems helpful for me in the sense that it will teach me what (sub)cultures even exist.
Can you do a video with the other provinces like Zhejiang ? I loved this video so much
I love this!! I would love more
*TOO FAST?* Control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 5% at a time on desktop computers and laptops OR 25% at a time on smartphone! *Access the playback speed controls as follows:* *Desktop Computers and Laptops:* open the video, then go to the *lower right of the video's screen* and click on the *settings* icon (it looks like a GEAR). On the upper right of the options window that comes up, you will see the link "custom". Click on the "custom" link to control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 5% at a time. *Smartphones:* open the video and go to the *upper right of the video's screen.* You will see *3 dots.* Click on them and you will see the link to open the "playback speed" controls. Click on this link and you will be able to control the video's playback speed by speeding up or slowing down the video 25% at a time. Note that viewing the video on desktop computer/laptops gives you greater control over the playback speed (5% vs 25% on smartphones). *Mandarin Corner*

Thanks...Despite the sillyness and some funny comments, it's really good learning material. I feel for Henan people. That's tough to be judged by strangers like that.
Muy interesante
I enjoyed this too much. I forgot I was meant to be listening instead of just reading.

Yes, Gwen was in the last podcast.
One reason for Shangainese preferring locals (for marriage) is probably language. The son/daughter and/or the parents might be fluent in Shanghainese (上海话) but not in official Chinese (普通话). So it would be like inviting a foreigner (someone who doesn't speak your language) to join your family.
Can you make a similar video with other provinces too. Shaanxi , hubei, fujian, Inner Mongolia, etc. And how about cities like Chengdu, chongqing, Beijing , Xian, Lanzho, etc. Thank you.
Jonas!!太帅了!
好搞笑😄做数学题的jonas太可爱了吧哈哈哈哈
重要的事情说三遍。我们在越南这边也有这个句话呀。年经人常说这样
Jonas is so funny! hahahahahah God!!!! If he has no problem at marrying a foreigner, I can marry him. hahahahaha...... Eileen, thanks a lot for sharing such content! These videos helps my listening a lot, and they are very funny! I loved it!!!! 但可能Gwen 喜欢Jonas! ❤❤
hhhhh Jonas is so funny and cute!!
nice Jonas it was interesting
Jonas and Gwen are hilarious 😂
Charmingly goofy how Chinese people take English names, even paradoxically during a Chinese language lesson. Seems a bit counterproductive to the goal of speaking fluently, Fantastic content overall, thanks, I have contributed.
Please hsk5, 6 synonyms, antonyms video.
Interesting topic hahaha
我觉得粤语也用这个字 "整" to mean "to do" . Interesting. Thanks for this video.
There's nothing that boosts my attention like the laughter of a pair of pretty young girls. When words sound so appealing you can't help, but to bury them deep in your unconscious. Grazie mille!
非常有意思和幽默的视频! 谢谢Eileen. Jonas加油,有一天你肯定会结婚😂

You guys are doing a great job, I noticed the tones on the pinyin can be wrong sometimes like the word 耙 in 耙耳朵 was written as first tone instead of second. I understand it's a lot of work to get everything right. Well done all the same
@MandarinCorner2
4 ай бұрын
Hi, 耙 alone is pronounced as the second tone. But 耙耳朵 is a set phrase, and it's pronounced as the first tone. Please check the complete phrase on a Chinese dictionary, such as Pleco, and you will see the correct pronunciation.
