I like and need all the details .cause I have never even seen the inside of a swap cooler .good going thanks 5 ******

First comment : When replacing pads, set the panel on the top of the cooler. Setting the panel on the roof surface will allow the roof granules to scratch the painted finish of the panels thus shortening the working life of the panel ( replacement panels cost about $ 80 - $100.00 each ) . It's much easier on your body to stand next to the cooler while changing pads than to get down on your knees , especially on a rough surface with a slope. FYI , I am the owner of a swamp cooler service company and I have serviced hundreds of coolers for many years.

Finally somebody who mentions the important cleaning of the holes in the reservoir :)

I used to work at a hardware store so I know a few things about swamp coolers and so I modified mine. For example mine has three sides with pads , and usually what comes with that is the spider that feeds the water to the pads and it is just one leg to each pad. so I modified mine to have two spider legs going to each pad to doubly make sure the pads stay wet. because one important thing is to make sure those pads are staying nice and wet. that's how you're going to get your swamp cooler staying really cool. If you have a swamp cooler and you find that the pads seem awfully dry you might want to do this or buy a better water pump that pumps more water to the pads

It's safer to unplug or plug in the blower fan motor cord only when the swamp cooler control switch is turned off. I have seen instances where the ground wire or path to ground has failed and when the service technician plugs the motor cord in, a spark or arc will jump to the technicians hand resulting in a nasty shock ( safety first )

It's very unconventional how this one cooler is setup. My water comes up through the roof in with 1/4" inch cooper tubing. Sometime those over flow valves don't work very will or are not adjusted right. They over fill, or over flow and the cold water running on the hot roof all summer long will eventually damage your roof. Roofs/Shingles are expensive to have replaced. Swamp coolers are designed with and over flow which goes through the drip pan and attaches to hose. The top of it is lower then the three inch water pan. So if it is over two and half inches it flows through hose. Any hose will work. The cheapest garden hose you can find buy and hook it up. Make sure the rubber washer is inside the where the hose attaches to the plastic overflow valve. If it now overflows it runs through the hose which you can easily detect through you rain gutter on dry day and get up work. Letting the water overflow on your roof can cost you a lot of money.

Usually there's two kinds of floats available one is all plastic and one is brass and if it were me I would probably go with the brass because it will last longer

Conduit, containing wires or conductors, unsecured moving in the wind can cause chafing or damage to a wires vinyl jacket within the interior of the conduit, also wire electrical connections at the cooler junction box or roof mounted junction box can become loose from wire strain resulting in an unsafe electrical connection.

Everyone’s does. It’s hard water build up. That why you need to have it winterized like in this video.

Music volume overpowers the intstructions making it difficult to catch all the information. Don't think the music adds to the important information that this presents, ALSO at one point what was being shown was completely blocked by person standing in in front of the camera!?

Maybe get in closer with your camera. Really show exactly what you are doing. Thanks
