Steps of the Rite: Artanis Helps Alarak to Kill Guardians (Starcraft 2 | Protoss Tal'darim)

Ойындар

The Spear of Adun warped into orbit of Slayn, as Hierarch Artanis and First Ascendant Alarak looked upon the death fleet. Alarak stated they had to make preparations, to which Artanis stated there was no time to sit and idly prepare. Alarak was firm in that the rite of Rak'Shir that would allow him to depose Highlord Ma'lash, the ruler of an entire people, could not be rushed it they were to be accepted. As per their bargain, Artanis would aid him. Artanis grudgingly had no choice but to follow Alarak's wishes.
Alarak informed Artanis that Ma'lash's guardians needed to be slain before Rak'Shir could commence. The Daelaam were deployed to the surface of Slayn, and established a base, but terrazine fog began to arise from the chasms of the planet. This came in cycles, and shadows of the Void began to manifest and attack the Daelaam base. After surviving the onslaught, the Daelaam mobilized a counterattack against Ma'lash's guardians.
During the attack, Phase-smith Karax discovered two Tal'darim motherships with solarite cores, that could be destroyed to upgrade the Spear of Adun. One by one the Daelaam killed the guardians, fighting through cycles of terrazine fog, Tal'darim and hybrid. With the last guardian dead, Alarak revealed that this wasn't actually part of Rak'Shir, but would help him in it and thus wished to them dead. He came to Ma'lash's temple and invoked the rite of Rak'Shir, challenging him to a duel to the death for leadership of the Tal'darim.
Artanis angrily confronted Alarak stating that if he deceived him again, there would be no alliance. Alarak countered by stating killing the guardians would help secure his rule as highlord. He took a dose of terrazine, which allowed him to feel Amon's rage at Alarak's defiance. Alarak stated that his victory was assured, but Artanis warned him that his overconfidence would be his opponent's greatest strength...

Artanis is unique leader in Star Craft. Raynor was a winded and tired General, who had seen war kill too many people. Kerrigan was a dictator, using her own rage, vendetta, and agenda to conduct the affairs of her army. Here, Artanis has a council of people, each trying to represent the interests of his people. He takes all there advice into consideration, much like a leader of a democracy.

I wouldn't exactly call Kerrigan a dictator since the Zerg is a hivemind species with no individuality present in any of them save a few unique Zerg creatures They all live to serve the strongest Zerg and Kerrigan is the strongest Zerg it's literally hard coded into their genes to obey the will of the toughest and the strongest To apply human government terms to the Zerg way of organizing is not fitting to say the least

@@magicalmagicmagician5223 zerg dont have zero individuality, they are just obedient I mean, it would be like saying an egyptian slave has zero individuality - they do, they're just not able to show it. Tyranid grunts, on the other hand, are quite literally mindless - zerg aren't a true hive mind in the same sense that the Borg or Tyranids or another Gestalt Conciousness, zerg are pretty unique in that aspect.

The protoss have many aspects to their race, divided up between all the different factions which I think represents a different side of the race's psyche. The Taldarim are in my eyes the "human" side of the protoss. Vengeful, angry, sarcastic and overconfident, but at the same time powerful in their unpredictive ways. The way Alarak jokes around and play games are very much like Mensk, whereas Artanis for example is noble and pure (and a bit naive, for sure) and by that the polar opposite to him. In the same way you could say that Raynor and Valerian are the "Protoss" side of humans in their values and ways of thinking. Don't know if that made sense haha

Tal'darim have every reason to be confident in themselves. Their brutal way of life makes them incredebly dangerous. If they are not the strongest, they wouldn't be Tal'darim.

human side of protoss? have you never seen nobility in humans? where do you live, in a gutter? you forget that this game and its universe has been made by humans, whose imagination has created this beautiful fantasy? grow up. stop demonising the human race like the other foolish members of it. humans are beautiful and it is only humans that have added the meaning of love and some purpose to this god forsaken universe. in reality. nature is not a mother , but a ruthless cannibal that survives by devouring its own. UNLIKE humans. we have no choice but to use these resources for our own survival, but slowly we are growing beyond these primitive needs and one day we will be self sufficient enough to realise our true potential, and be far greater than these pathetic protoss you so care about. show some foresight and vision. dont be like the stupid that populate like fungal spores around you and who get influenced by negativity that the media propogates about humanity. humanity is far noble and grand, and has been through much much more than a puny mind can grasp.

If anything, the most human of the protoss are the nera'zim who value freedom and the ability to make one's own choices, refusing to be shackled to a collective hivemind.
