Not prison, jail. When you are arrested you go to jail before your arraignment or anything like that and you need to see a judge to assert probable cause before even being able to pay your bond. Judges only work normal hours during the week. This means if you get arrested Friday night, you have to spend the weekend in jail, then see a judge on Monday.
