Barkley said Jordan is around alot of Yes Men, and Jordan took that extremely personal to the point they haven't been friends for decades. Barkley must of been somewhat correct since Jordan lost his majority ownership of the Hornets. Those men Jordan hang around with are likely using him to manipulate him into making bad business deals that serve their purpose.

But they do minimize Jordan's teammates in general. The narrative is Jordan is the greatest and he won everything on his own. Scottie has always been called robin with Jordan being Batman. Yet jordan only started to win once Scottie arrived and never won without Scottie. Scottie isn't the only former teammate to dislike Jordan. People seem to ignore Jordan is an asshole. Guys like Jordan and Kobe are dicks and easy to dislike. All that said Scotties issues are more with Jordan fans than Jordan himself.

He had zero problems throwing teammate under the bus for using drugs but didn't touch any of the point shaving allegations. Jordan won 6 rings not the bulls or Scottie but Jordan. Jordan was crowned the goat even though he didn't surpass the previous. Around the league there have been former players complaining about the nba and it's bias towards Jordan. Yes Scotties is personal and easy to discredit because he wasn't as good as Jordan. Plus it seems impossible for most people to actually see someone else's point of view regardless if they are wrong. But that just shows people don't wish to understand and just rather judge.

It's really pretty simple: Scottie views himself as an equal to Jordan when it comes to physical skills and traits within the game. Because of this, he's always resented Jordan for his fame, money, endorsements, popularity, because, "I'm just as good as him. Why don't I have all that?". But the reality is Jordan doesn't have all those things strictly because of his physical talents; it's his physical talents along with the supreme confidence, charisma and the alpha of alphas way he carries himself. Deep down, Scottie knows this, but it's a lot easier to blame the guy who you view as a physical equal than to admit, "I just wasn't that guy."

I think talent wise they certainly could have, but who knows how that dynamic would work out. And Pippen NEVER averaged 25 a game. His career high was 22, and that was the season Jordan retired. @FrancisJohnson-ob9oz I don't disagree. Pip was a great player and deserves his credit: good offensive player and arguably the best perimeter defender of all time. On the flip side, we also can't pretend like he was Jordan because he clearly wasn't. Pip could never have carried the load offensively for a contender, and he wasn't a leader. Also, to refer to Jordan as a ball hog is a stretch, considering he was shooting well over 50% from the field when people were accusing him of that. You could argue that a GUARD shooting between 51-54% should be shooting more 🤷‍♂️

The Bulls told Pippen it wasn't a great deal long term, but he signed it anyway. 2. Pippen sat out the 1.8 seconds at the end of the Knicks game. He was frustrated and let his emotions get the better of him. But when asked in the Last Dance (20+ years later) if he would make the same decision again, he said he would! That makes Pippen look bad. Pippen was an all time great player and I empathize with Pippen's frustrations, but he's making himself look bad with his bitterness and antics.

This to me puts Michael Jordan's degree of difficulty even higher on winning his rings. Imagine having a guy be your running mate and winning with you, but basically hating you the entire time. He challenged you, he taught you how to win (Scottie averaged just 7ppg out of college) and gave you toughness and this comes out way later? You're considered arguably the best duo in NBA history?!! He's pathetic.

Pippen is mad at Jordan because he didn't help when SP needed MJ to lean on Bulls ownership (Reinsdorf) to renegotiate his contract. From 87-97, MJ made about $90m from his Bulls salary. During that same span, SP made about $22.5m. SP signed a 7 year contract in 1991. Bulls management advised against it, because he'd be stuck if he outplayed his contract (which he did). SP probably thought the Bulls would renegotiate it if he outplayed his contract, and he wanted the stability. When the Bulls declined to renegotiate, SP wanted MJ to lean on the Bulls to help him out. MJ didn't do that. Could he have? Yes. Should he have? Yes. It may not have been as big of a deal at the time, but when you get older you look at things differently. SP had a costly divorce. Who knows what he's done with his other investments. Regardless, I can see why Pippen is pissed. I can also see why Jordan is pissed. I'd probably side with Pippen, but MJ could care less what anyone thinks.

Everyone including MJ and even the owner Reinsdorf told Pippen not to sign that contract that he signed. He signed it anyway. After that, no one was under any obligation to help him get out of that contract. If I tell you not to slap a police officer and you ignore me and do it anyway, can you then blame me for not posting your bail?

  • @broncobilly4029

@@MDAce150 Of course, I didn't say MJ was obligated to help SP. I said he could have and he should have...if he wanted to avoid hard feelings like this later. Regardless, your analogy is unrelated. Nobody was asking anyone to break the law. Pippen was just asking MJ to collectively bargain with him, which is done all the time. MJ was free to decline. That's what he did, and they are where they are.

Alternatively, I could just say I told you so, and hold you to your mistake so you could learn from it. Maybe that works out and maybe you don't hold a grudge. However, I may need a favor from you one day, and in that case you may tell me to go F myself, since I didn't help you when I could have. That's all. MJ is competitive and stubborn. He seems to have lost some friends as a result, but he seems to have done fine so who am I to judge. :)

It’s easy to applaud the popular hero MJ and point fingers at the villain(Scottie) a griping malcontent saying certainly some ridiculous, inaccurate things. But that doesn’t make the supposed villain all wrong or the supposed hero all right. We don’t live in a black and white world. Scottie was beloved by his teammates. Michael wins no rings without Scottie Pippen. Just remember that. Those are facts. And pretty big ones. Is Scottie in an unhappy place stand saying some misguided frankly crap? Yep. But that doesn’t make him a bad dude. Michael controlled the resurrection if you will of the Chicago Bulls greatness in that video footage documenting that last year. Not the team. Not a network even. Michael Jordan. And he primarily is the fountain of “insight” his commentary in his living room or wherever that was filmed. Very un team like way to have a team legacy assessed. And of course ESPN wanted to have some eye catching ie controversial takes to MAKE MONEY. And they got it with Mike and a Steve Kerr’s two exasperated comments of “disbelief” about Scottie Pippen. Man can you believe what Scottie did?! And they were overreaction made for TV moments and frankly crap. Disloyal. So yes while Scottie is obviously in an unhappy place saying some ridiculous things this nonetheless was BS. And he and Horace and Luc you can say they’re just ingrates and dummies and write them off. But they’re not. They’re champions. And they did their job. And now they’re pissed for a reason. Granted their reaction this tour is misguided and kind of dumb. But they won as a team and this doc was not done as a team. It was done by Michael Jordan and ESPN. And to me it is BS.

Isiah Thomas said Jordan was a fake in like 91 way before scottie and so many other NBA players. Why did the league cover up his gambling addiction and help cover the real reason of his fathers death and had him retire to take the heat off NBA for a while and if Jordan was a true friend and all he would have advised his young son to stay away from pip's former wife, cuz that's just a no, no.
