When in 2004 a teammate of the Kobe’s 2004 lakers team said that the reason they lost in the finals that year was because Kobe was being selfish and was fixated on getting mvp instead of being a team player. And it kindve makes sense why the lost, Kobe was jealous that the last 3 championships Shaq got the mvps

Nah, it was still disingenuous on Kobe's part. Shaq didn't have to work as hard as Kobe because he was already dominant and at a level above Kobe. It's true, Shaq could have been the GOAT. But Kobe also should have said he should have passed the ball more and should've been more efficient so they could have won more titles. The last time I checked it's Kobe who has spotty playoff performances during the highest levels - finals FG of 40% average? really? -- while Shaq has been mostly dominant.

Watching Kobe play basketball was like watching a master work on the Mona Lisa. He wasn't competing against you. He was dodging ghosts. He was in a fight to the death. He was war ready. He was never choking, never scared, never shook. He was the most dominant player I've ever seen under 6'9. A flawless continuation of MJ that built on all his strengths. The only one who understood the mindset it takes. The "delusional self confidence" that comes from the iron will it took to put up 700 shots after a win. That man was creating art on the court and his dramatics were Shakespearean. This man is walking on water and floating back to kill you. Then twist the knife. He wanted to break your spirit and ruin your life. He was raw beef walking. Gritty and bloody and born amid violence. Salt. Smoke. Pepper and fire. Did I make it sound epic enough? Because it was. As fuck.
