as a kid growing up during the three-peat era lakers in LA, this video and simulation made me both nostalgic and devastated. genuinely what a duo shaq and kobe were, and it was so sad to see them split over their egos. its really cool to see that they likely would have been incredibly successful if they put their egos behind them and just pursued rings together for 15+ years.

I choose to keep the same rosters or not depending on the video idea. One like this I don’t think it makes sense to keep the same roster because shaq staying in LA would have completely changed how things played out as far as draft order for the entire league, and free agency signings based off that Other videos where i swap a career i usually keep the rosters accurate to every year Also, great ideas! I really want to get one with melo out soon and that’s a good one

The nba did reject that trade. It was at a different year than when it happened in this video though. I didn’t make the cp3 move happen manually. He just happened to sign there in free agency when i simulated through the off season lmao

Realistically I think they could have won 2 more. So Kobe would have still gotten to 5 rings, after that they would need to bring in some fresh legs, and also a 3rd caliber star to side into that secondary star role next to Kobe as Shaq declines from aging. A solid point guard would do the trick if you ask me. If they could get Jason Kidd some how that would be the way to go. Someone who can help out with the defense, and spread the floor to get Shaq good looks.

As a Lakers fan, in those days the main reason was Mitch Kupchak was not Jerry West. Mitch started drafting like shit. Shaq and Kobe always had the stats. The players around them got old while teams like the spurs and suns were deep
