Terry, Conor MUST work nonstop on his grappling, (he NEEDS to hire the best wrestling coach available, and work like a DOG), and even MORE importantly, he NEEDS to RUN 7+ MILES nonstop everyday. @@butterman3017 At least Ferguson kept fighting for 3 more Rounds back when he broke his arm and didn't quit unlike Pettis. Ferguson always gets hit a shit ton every single fight just like Diaz. The longer the fight the better he gets it has always been like that.

MMA is different. The statistics behind a champion finishing a contender and then losing a rematch via finish are slim to none. And Conor isn’t winning a decision let’s be real. These guys are great but why can’t espn get at least one qualified guy up there with them and let the personalities draw ratings .

These guys are exaggerating Conor's power. Conor has never KOed anybody who was bigger than him, bigger guys are more durable and have the ability to absorb his shots better. The last guy he finished was Eddie Alvarez... who was able to eat Conor's biggest shots for 7 or 8 minutes straight before finally breaking. This idea that Conor will just KO Khabib with one shot is a huge stretch.

*Rematch? There was no match to begin with. Conor is NOT on Khabib's level. Period.*

The only reason he'll probably get a rematch is because it'll make the UFC the most money, but if they want to sell MMA is a sport with integrity and hope that it makes the olympics than TONY FERGUSON 'DESERVES' the next title shot. I agree Conor isn't the victim but let's remember that his home boy Artem was jacked up by Khabib and his crew that earlier that day in New York. so naturally any real friend will roll up and check those fools and let it jump off. So, they rushed the bus as it was leaving to get him off the bus and take this to the streets. So Khaib was in the wrong to roll up with his crew and then brag and say Artem should've taken the beat down like a man and did something. So Khabib asked for the street stuff not Conor. This thing jumped off because Khabib kicked it off with a street thug act instead of a professional fighter. No real home would let thier boy get punked by a group of dudes without coming to check them at first sight. Real recognize real on those facts. However I concede to the point about the other stuff Conor has said that was over the line.

LMAO! No. Conor doesn't "deserve" a re-match. He wasn't cheated. He didn't have some medical emergency that cut the fight short. He knew who he was fighting when he agreed to fight. If he needed time to train, then the time to say that was before the fight when he was busy running his mouth about peoples' religions and families. Then he loses, and poor butt-hurt Conor and his fans in the press suddenly want to offer up endless excuses to give Conor another chance to do what Khabib did when it counted, which was WIN. Khabib is a fighter. He agreed to a fight, trained for the fight, got in the ring and took care of business. If he wants to fight Conor again that's his choice, but HELL NO is McGregor entitled to a re-match just because he's desperate to save face.

If Tony Ferguson isn't the opponent the next time the 155lb belt is on the line the UFC looses credibility.If they push back a title fight for Khabib to have a catch weight fight for no belt with GSP I'd be cool with that though.IMO that'd be the biggest fight in MMA history.

He had TWO years to prepare for khabib. How much time do you need? That wasn't a break, that was time to prepare for a fight that he wasn't ready for

Conor McGregor does not deserve an immediate rematch because: 1) He was the contender against Khabib. 2) He lost and was finished without controversy. Traditionally immediate rematches are given to champions who get caught, have been very successful or to contenders who lose controversially (ex. Shogun vs. Machida). Conor isn't in that situation. He lost. Fighting Floyd Mayweather in Boxing took him away from MMA for awhile and that was his choice. He lost and he was dominated in defeat. Can he win? Sure. Can the UFC make tons of money from a rematch? Absolutely. But give another contender a chance especially someone more deserving like Tony Ferguson. There are plenty of Lightweight contenders Conor McGregor can face in a comeback such as Edson Barboza, Kevin Lee, Anthony Pettis, Nate Diaz or even Jose Aldo if he moves up. Conor doesn't deserve an immediate rematch just because he talks smack and became the UFC Poster Boy. Fighting any of the named contenders would actually be good for him if he can get a win. A rubber match with a trash-talking Diaz ("Haha! You got your ass-whooped again motherfucker!") or a rematch with Jose Aldo would be great marketable fights that could be PPV headliners and set up a rematch with Khabib down the line. I think Khabib would smash him again but if he's going to get another chance make him earn it.

I think it is not unreasonable to give Conor another title shot after fighting one contender. Dana obviously wants the biggest draw. You can see the look on his face when the guys he wants to win end up losing. But he should not make a mockery of the sport by given the most popular fighter undeserved chances to be champion. McGregor got stripped of the belt, took a big money fight in Boxing, came back to try to reclaim the title and lost. Let someone else fight and maybe build another superstar. There are a lot of options for Conor at Lightweight other than an undeserved rematch.

He predicted round 4 finish of Mayweather, instead lost due to KO in 10th round. Predicted 1st round KO of Alvarez, fight ended in the 2nd round. Predicted finish in Diaz fight but taped in one and one went to judges hands. I think his legacy and career is over especially after the vicious beating he took from Nurmagomedov.

Max Kellerman is right, no surprise. He knows way more about the fight game than Stephen A Smith. Having a rematch with Khabib would be career suicide. Conor needs to get back on his feet, get back to his winning ways, get better, get more fights in then the next rematch with Khabin will give the public more hope that Conor actually has a chance against Khabib.
