I could never be a sponsor. There are things that I would automatically report to the police if it were revealed to me. There are other reasons a should not be a sponsor but this is #1

What if I make 2 lists -- one to show to my sponsor and one to keep to myself? I'm not a Catholic but I would never confess my most private "sins" to another finite, weak person. BTW, thank you for bringing out your final point that Step 4 isn't just about revealing our shortcomings, but that once they are swept away our good points are better revealed. I've never heard anyone else point that out.

my sponsor had me first list ten ASSETS in my character/personality...before digging deep into the wounds to clean them out...
