Very happy with Stemco Gardian seals . Apply Never-Sieze to both sides of the hub gasket . Chuck a 5/16-18 tap in a cordless drill and clean hub threads . Apply Never-Sieze to new bolts and install . Emery flap wheels do -a fine clean -up on spindle and hub bore . Much appreciated video !

I have never seen a truckstop mechanic do all these procedures, thus I wonder how well trained they are. Great information here.

Times have changed . Rev max seals are the best these days . I clean all surfaces and lube them with the lube in the box and you push them in by hand .

I'm a second year app and i think i've been doing double nut adjustments wrong in my shop to tight the inner nut and back of 1/4 and check for play then put the retainers on

if done right do wheel hubs need to be retorqued later?

i said 1 to 5 thousand of an inch for the play of the bearing but stemco poster says 1 to 3 thousands of an inch

No bendable star with my Everything else made sense though.

First fall down is leaking oil on to shoes. Just convert to grease first time it fails ..Even better fit bpw preset bearing that last for life of vehicle and no messing about with 70s prehistoric junk

STEMCO WHEEL SEALS ARE GARBAGE!!! they still use leather on the wear ring, they were great 40 years ago, CR plus XL Everytime!

more of a National Seal guy myself or a CR but I hate stemco fucking junk shit in my book, they always fail and leak Ive seen National Seals installs and never leak
