Stem cell effects of consuming sea buckthorn extract - Video Abstract ID 186893

Video abstract of original research paper “Rapid and selective mobilization of specific stem cell types after consumption of a polyphenol-rich extract from sea buckthorn berries (Hippophae) in healthy human subjects” published in the open access journal Clinical Interventions in Aging by Drapeau C, Benson KF, Jensen GS.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of a proanthocyanidin-rich extract
of sea buckthorn berry (SBB-PE) on the numbers of various types of adult stem cells in the
blood circulation of healthy human subjects.
Study design and methods: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, cross-over
trial was conducted in 12 healthy subjects. Blood samples were taken immediately before and
at 1 and 2 hours after consuming either placebo or 500 mg SBB-PE. Whole blood was used for
immunophenotyping and flow cytometry to quantify the numbers of CD45dim CD34+ CD309+
and CD45dim CD34+ CD309- stem cells, CD45- CD31+ CD309+ endothelial stem cells, and
CD45- CD90+ mesenchymal stem cells.
Results: Consumption of SBB-PE was associated with a rapid and highly selective mobilization
of CD45dim CD34+ CD309- progenitor stem cells, CD45- CD31+ CD309+ endothelial
stem cells, and CD45- CD90+ lymphocytoid mesenchymal stem cells. In contrast, only minor
effects were seen for CD45dim CD34+ CD309+ pluripotential stem cells.
Conclusion: Consumption of SBB-PE resulted in selective mobilization of stem cell types
involved in regenerative and reparative functions. These data may contribute to the understanding
of the traditional uses of SBB for preventive health, regenerative health, and postponing
the aging process.

My back yard is about an acre. I planted around 40 different types fruit trees/bushes. I loved the sea buckthorn so much, i planted thousands of them in the forest behind my house. The neighbors say they look like alien plants. Some of my neighbors even started eating them out of the forest. Somewhere online i found the seeds for sale in little bags of a thousand or so. I bought like 20 bags and spread them all over the forest at the start of the rainy season. That was a few years ago, and they are everywhere lol. I eat them almost every day, and feel great when i do. I am spreading the word about them in my local area because people hike that forest all the time. I need to make a sign that identifies them so people can safely harvest.

@@Anywhere369 Check your local nurseries. I've seen lots of Sea Buckthorn showing up at my local nursery too. i bought a few dozen from a place called Mulhalls in Omaha because they looked a tiny bit different than mine. Might be a different cultivar.

Thank you Geeta. I take seed oil, fruit oil, berry flavone capsules and tea from the leaves since June of 2005. Before that I accept I had a weak constitution, in July and moving forward I am astounded at my health benefits and know I was nutritionally challenged even though I had been studying natural health and vitamins 25 years previously. Out of all the supplements I tried, nothing came close to family of seabuckthorn nutrition.

@@dandelions2414 well I don't know about the person who took it... but it gives you boested immunity and healthy skin, hair and nails. It has essential fatty acids Omega 3,6,9 & rarest 7 which is good for overall health. Heart, lungs, liver, kidney. Plus it is full os SOD that is an antioxidant which is required for any disease prevention

@@dandelions2414 , increased strength, endurance and recovery. Very healthy skin, knees don't hurt anymore, eyesight improved, no more cysts developing on jaw line aging symptoms just don't develop very fast.

@@tomnoddy420 Thank you. Did it affect your weight at all? MMany articles say it causes weight loss but another says it helps restore facial volume loss in the face which is what I am wanting to achieve.

Because we have thousands of trees of sea buckthron in our area and no body use them to their health care. @BillyBob Yeah, but surprising is that nobady uses sea buckthron because first of they (🌲) grow up themselve they dont need any care and furthermore noday do the cultivation of sea buckthron. So, No Input and No Output. Furthermore I will try to find out and international market to do work

@BillyBob Yeah Absolutely, If one tree grow up in a field then in the next year the field is filled with the sea bucktress due to their quickly spreading roots becuase here is a good wather for the tresses. Therefore we have the jungles of Sea Buckthron. Furthermore, May I know about that is there any trick to harvest the sea buckthron?

seabuckthorn are uncommon fruit in mongolian its really healthy its really a good bevarage instead of drinking beer and alcohol you need to add it in water boil it add sugar and enjoy ur drink! it's really tasty if you freeze it,add sugar and enjoy?

Is it safe to take seabuckthorn seed oil with blood thinners in patients who have had heart attack? Can anyone tell?

Do they need nutrition? Seabuckthorn is a healthy food. I can't see why not.
Sea Buckthorn is not confined to high altitudes in Tibet. It is native to,and common in,the North Sea and Baltic coastal areas of Europe...and probably many places elsewhere.

2- seabuckthorn berry has higher orac value ranging 70k to 100k. And Acai berry has only 15.4k in its pulp.

I take sea buckthorn powder and just have a tea spoon everyday. It tastes refreshing. Make sure you look at the ingredients and get one with zero additives (anti caking agents, avoid bulking agents), 3rd party tested, 100% vegan, gluten free and GMO free.
