Yes, another good pick up, makes a very powerful ship even more powerful.
The power creep with this dlc and update is just ridiculous, it makes playing anything other than a machine empire in multiplayer an herculean effort.

That is rather true, I suspect they will let us have our fun with this DLC for a number of months, then the nerfs will start coming in. But Machines other than Rouge Servitor have been rather dull to play for along long time so they were overdue some love and they sure did get that love from Paradox.
Ohh Man!!! Your notification just popped up and it was nice to see that finally paradox did something about nanites. Thanks a ton for the video. Now will be rummaging through nanite saves and taking revenge from multiple federations which attacked me, my nanite carrier Swarmers couldn't do much because of long range buffs those jackasses were having, now time for having these battleships and subsuming their damn worlds :)

Hahaha well hopefully those saves work for you with the new patch. If not, you will have to start again and just go kick some butt across the galaxy. I think this designs with cosmogenesis gives a real strong ability to fight all the 25 x crises.
Having tested these extensively, I can say that nanite battleships with the Archaeotech ascension perk are god-tier. The Torpedo build is still best, but instead of disruptors you run nanomissile cloud launchers, because in addition to the range (and only costing nanites) they do something VERY well, which is making sure your torpedoes make it through enemy point defense by oversaturating them with missiles. If you have the upgraded Ancient Pulse armor, you have more raw HP than dragonscale, and you're not as vulnerable to specific counters. Armor hardening on the utility slot seals it, closing of the ship's major vulnerability to armor bypass weapons. I run the PD build on the nanite swarmers with tier 4 flak not just because it does decent dps, but because it makes your fleet immune to torpedoes and missiles, of which cloaked frigates are the only counter to a monofleet of them. The torpedo combat computer enhances explosive damage, so that goes for the nanomissiles as well. Keeping your fleets of nanite interdictors and swarmers separate helps, since you can stack admirals that get bonuses to explosive weapon damage to really launch the killing potential of the fleet into the stratosphere. Compliment the interdictor fleet with a titan. Subspace Snare really helps offset Nanomissiles forcing disengages.

Yes, I did not use the Archaeotech ascension for this test as I wanted to see how it went with no big bonuses. But yes, those Strike Craft and Missiles will be 33% more effective in terms of damage with this ascension. Very powerful build. The PD for the Swarmers is great, they don't last that long but long enough to give you a decisive edge in battles, if you even needed. I like the idea of using the nano missiles to saturate enemy PD.
nanite ascension is just the third crisis now

Hahaha, that is a good way to look at it, 3rd player crisis that is. But hard to beat Virtuality, it gives you such a massive early game lead they would kill you prior to having many nanites.

@@tachyonlance1969 you can curbstomp a virtual player pretty easily with proper planet sniping and tatics, but a wide Empire is harder to topple and stop, even more with free ships every 5 years, even If They work more as Canon fodder

Yes, if you see a player not building any ships, staying very small, hit them early and hit them hard and keep doing it so they can't just snowball into virtuality.

Hope you enjoy it! I do think the nanite build needed something like this, could end up being too powerful but it is expensive in nanites, still even in limited numbers it is very powerful.

There is a simple formula for calculating the power of ships. You need to multiply their damage per second by their health and divide by their cost squared. This allows you to calculate their strength with a certain error (speed, firing range, evasion, accuracy, quantization). It would be nice if you added a similar metric to your videos so that it is immediately obvious how cool this or that build is

I could try, but math's was never my best subject, also becomes a matter of time. I could do so many more things with the videos, but then I would spend day or weeks on one video, and I don't have the time for such a commitment. Surely there is some easy spread sheet or something I could use for this.
Screw planets have you seen space mining automata stacked up with nanites? Place your arc furnaces good as well and planets are for the weak.

I’ve begun mixing in carrier interdictor fleets with my FE mixed battlecruiser and escort fleets. The sheer number of strike craft they can dump into an engagement is ridiculous.

Oh yes it would be insane, get the best of both worlds with using nanites with FE fleets, one using nanite resources the other alloys.
Do you think you could make a summary video for the current meta build for each ship class and rank them vs each other? I just got into the game with the sale/free weekend and probably am not alone in being super confused on how to design ships and what to put on them Edit: i see you made one 2 months ago, if we could get another one with the latest dlc, it would be crazy appreciated! But the other is hopefully up to date enough!

That is a pretty good idea to give my opinion of what is the best weapons in each class. Only issue is each class can perform multiple roles which require different weapons. Such as a Cruiser which can be a close in Torpedo boat or it can be a long-range artillery ship or even a Carrier. I can try and get one done just not sure it will be done that soon as it would take some time to work it all out, test it. Certainly, a good idea though.

I wonder what if instead of afterburners you put some regen on the nanite battleships Also the smaller version can also still be used for like the hangar roles or so

Yes, some regen would be good, nanite repair would work really well with the high armor levels it can have. Yes, could do Swarmers with hangers, I did not have much time to work it all out as was surprised to see the new ship class. I will be revisiting this a bit as it is a very versatile and powerful ship with a lot of potential.
I've not seen any good playthrough of the Nanite ascension. But the Nanite Interdictors are pricey at 7.5k each. Do you have recommended benchmarks for monthly nanite gain by what year ? And at what year would you realistically be able to start pumping out a sizeable number of Interdictors ?

No, I don't, they only been out a few days. Others who have commented have said it is no problem getting a lot of nanites, I know some players get millions. The basics is rushing unity early, forgot tech rush, it is now unity rush to get to your ascension early. Then rush more tech and expand out once you have you ascension as if you expand to much too early you increase tradition costs too much, making it too expensive and too long to get.
Another great film. Now, I must play nanite my next game.

Yes, I want to play a Nanite game as well, I have 4 x Crisis to smash at 25 x level.
Is it just me or FE ships from cosmogenesis should feel like the be all end all of ships and yet a tradition somehow is almost if not completely superior in every way and the ascension perk is just basically win more in most cases and used for things you missed because someone got the tech first or because the research never spawned.

Yea I really think the FE ships could use a buff, they are very expensive as well. I think the real bonus of cosmogenesis is the FE buildings, exclude the synaptic lathe, that thing is just OP and I won’t use it anymore until it is balanced. This Nanite Battleship is just awesome.

@tachyonlance1969 I've been known to ignore the lathe as you can keep diplo to the end if you aren't purging pops which is fine as you can then build unchained research in the community to gain all the advanced knowledge only down side is the research costs of the cosmogenisis research options will take about 100 months unless you've really been pushing research buildings. But with the lathe you can just not build research buildings especially if you go genetic and wide creating a disposable chip species

I just find the lathe is just rather OP, I was able to just conquer a nearby empire, take 10 planets and send them all to the Lathe, was churning through the advanced cosmogenesis techs in 4-6 months each. Just crazy. If I needed more pops soon, just attack my next Neighbour and rinse and repeat. What they should do is make the diplomatic cost much higher, good that FE now get angry at you doing advanced techs, but so should the rest of the galaxy. Anyone with a Lathe should be a galactic criminal and treated as such.

Seems to be a unity rush, instead of building tech on your capital make it all unity instead, build your species around increasing unity. Keep your empire sprawl small early on until you finish the tradition then expand more. Machine world is a really good option to fast track this as well.
Given lategame the nanite ships just spawned by themselves, and fleet cap really does not make any difference, except you being forced to go exclusive on nanite ships, you are forced to do non-stop war anyway, or you go crazy by the amount of fleets appearing

The new patch stops the spawning of free ships, you now get nanites instead to the value of the ships you would have had. So now you only pick what you want to build, don't have to build them if you don't want too.
Don't underestimate a swarmer fleet full of point defense. 200 point defense swarmers will prevent basically the entire enemy missile/torpedo volley. They will also have 90% evasion. So your enemy has to chew through 90% evasion point defense ships before they can really harm your battleships

That is a very good idea, Swarmers can use 4 PD or Flak points, so having a few hundred flies at say at medium range would shoot down a lot of the enemies strike craft/missiles/torps for a while. They won't last that long but long enough to make sure you win the battle and very cheap to replace. I would also use them as Carriers, 1 strike craft per swarmer and leave the nanite battleships for pure long-range firepower and close range torpedo barrage.
was hoping it was a great confluence mothership than just... a bigger interdictor

Oh, only a mothership, why not. I guess a Nanite version of a Titan or Juggernaut. Imagine that, giving aurora buffs on Nanites as well, which we can do with normal Titans or FE Titans, the offensive Aurora's apply to all enemy ships. You can always add a Titan to a Nanite fleet to get defensive buffs.
Damn these ships sound fun. Since the update I only used the Fall empire ships, wonder how these compare c:

They are pretty strong; I would suspect a Battle Cruiser is stronger due to double X slot weapons, but you can put 2-1 in a fleet for the Nanite Battleships. But I need to test it. If you play Nanites and go Cosmogenesis, you can build Fallen Empire Ships and Nanites with all the free nanites you get :) Best of both worlds.
Actually crazy that they added a new ship class just with an update

Yes, no big announcement, just snuck it in the patch notes. I only decided to have a good read through them and went, no.......they didn't, yes, they did. So had to quickly take a look and try out this new toy and is certainly very powerful. Very sneaky of Paradox and I had not seen any other videos on this yet.

Actually, Montu is normally right on top of this stuff, he typically releases videos on Patch notes, but he has missed this one and the previous few updates, so he totally missed a new ship class. I just checked his channel and normally he would be all over this like a rash, yay I beat Montu to a world first.....maybe.
The new patch? How do I access the Nanite Battleship? Is it a technology for all empires or just some?

Yes, it is in the new 3.12.5 patch. You need to play machine empire and take the Nanotech Ascencion path/tradition tree. Pick Synesthetic as your 3rd Ascencion Perk and that opens up a situation to complete, at the end of it you can pick Nanotech, Modularity or Virtuality, pick Nanotech to unlock that tradition tree and you are on your way.
Did you have the archeotch perk when you did this? I want to know because that perk makes archeotch weapons better.

@@tachyonlance1969 ok. I loved the vid tho. I can only assume that this info will lead to a new type of archeo weapon rush like the menacing corvette swarms of the Become The Crisis. Just imagine an artillery battery with a full set of driller drones and archeotech nano missiles on the interdictor. That is prob the new meta.

Very likely could be with the plus 33% damage. Plus, I think there is an Astral Plain option that gives another 15% damage to Archeotech weapons from memory.

Are you using a mod of some type. I was able to put power on no problems, change it to what I wanted too, Dark Matter Power. Do an integrity check on your game files, sounds like something not right with your game.
You can make silly amounts of nanites with the space optimization perk (names eluding me) edit: Astro Mining Drones

Yeap, play wide and get yourself 100+ planets and you will have millions of nanites per year no problem.

Yes, and it is the same naval fleet cost as a Cruiser, only 4 points, half a standard Battleship.

Good point, I forgot about them. Test them next time but yes, very powerful, those are even better then disrupters.
Hi, Can anyone help, I'm a newbie so please forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question but how can I get free nanite ships? description says that it is enough to build a nanits harvester, for the test I specially made 10 bases, installed a harvester for each one and in 50 years I got 0 nanits ships, what else needs to be done to automatically produce ships?

In the new patch 3.12.5, you no longer get free nanite ships, but you get the equivalent amount of nanites that the ships are worth every 5 years, if you have your StarBase's at Citadel level. Nanites harvesters will grow your nanite production on all the mining stations in that system every 5 years as well.
Now i can play as Sauthek Dinasty from 40k and wreck shit!

Yeap you sure can, this ship opens up so many options now. I like how Paradox basically just tipped over the kitchen table of ship design and said here, take this and see what you can do with it. Play it before they nerf it.

Ancient driller drones would devastate these, also if you want to beat nanite empire you dont do that on tactical level, you need to destroy their nanite output. Stealth ships and armies with jumpdrives is your best bet

@@tachyonlance1969 though i must say that these would still likely win against driller drones in macro level, you can have only so many minor artifacts, replacing lost ships is still pain, and i have only once tried FP, i got bored in 10 years, i like megacorps more

Yeap more people should use stealth, not much good against the AI as they always build so many detectors, they really fear stealth. Human players not so much.
So paradox really did this lmao ? I though it was a mod that bring this up when i saw the template on the ship design menu 😂

A lot of people complain they don't have enough nanites. I only have 27 planets about 40 systems, i make so many i literally can't spend them
