I am thankful for your video. I watched vids from FWC, not anywhere near as informative as this. Thanks from a newbie

That's great feedback! We just got off the water and got our limit so they're thick out there! Good luck and be safe!

scallops are really thick in sand pockets and short grass, if you find a sandy spot, swim around the edge where the grass starts and check with in a 5 foot radius. best depth is around 5-6 foot during high tide

Can I take my Jon Boat out or is it too small of a watercraft? Thanks for the video!

Yes you can, however I would recommend going out of one of the different creeks' boat ramps instead of the Steinhatcchee river. There's a creek North of the river called Dallus Creek that is perfect for a Jon Boat.

@NickeeGee how far Noth is Dallus Creek? What town is it considered? I only have a Jon boat also.

Thanks for all the information. Do you know if there's a good place to go it you don't have access to a boat?

That may be tough, do you have any sort of water craft like a canoe or kayak?

The only place you may could do it would be either Keaton Beach or Dekle beach.

There are only 1 scallop, which is skeptical, that should have been a keeper. The others are too small.

This was filmed pre season , and typically the scallops are much smaller the earlier in the year. I didn't keep any of these as it was for demonstration purposes only.
