Im currently in Brazil and yesterday i was the only one not wearing a Flamengo shirt at a BBQ (im a three hour flight away from Rio) none of them want Bruno to leave but they know his dream is to play in Europe. The alleged offer wasnt much more than he is earning at the moment and he rejected it due to the higher cost of living in London.

I am literally flabbergasted that we offered a Brazilian international 15k a week!! It’s taking the p!$$ out of him. Yes you start low but that’s ridiculous, it makes us look like chancers, looking to exploit the player. He’s probably fuming, he’s not stupid, he will know we pay our kids that.

it's probably closer to 30k pounds at week, which is usually a very good offer for a player in the brazilians league, they are usually on 5-10k he is asking for premiership wages which takes the gloss away from the deal, when you are looking in brazil you aren't paying those wages unless the player is in really high demand or something really special

We weren't offering him any more than he was already earning and on a shorter contract according to the local media. Guessing cost of living in London is a fair bit more than even the priciest places in Brazil. Maybe not a surprise he wasn't up for making himself poorer to play for us + factor in his family situation. What is a surprise (maybe) is that we don't seem to have done some basic homework

@@Moyesiah123 as of 22/23 season the highest paid footballer in brazil is duda, from the same club, who is on 15k/wk this guy is probably on 10k/wk yes london is expensive, but the cost of living is irrelevant when you are talking about these wages let alone 20 - 30k a week now if you wanted you own harem of the highest class prostitutes following you everywhere with coke on silver platers then sure, but that doesn't have anything to do with the cost of living he'd be insane to reject 20/30k and it is a excellent offer he is unlikely to receive elsewhere, unless MAYBE he gains more interest after a very successful copa america - doesn't even seem likely to play unless there are injuries tim needs to move on, can't deal with clubs/agents/players that constantly move the goal posts, it sends the wrong message to the market and makes every future deal 10x more difficult this is not the old west ham where we have a target/name and no one else, tim has a list of players that fit a profile, we move on, clubs/agents/players will so learn not to reject good offers from west ham

I read an interesting article about the transfer market from South America to Europe. Basically, it said one of the main reasons there are so many Brazilian players (other than the quality) in the Premier League is because all the actors in Brazil, like the teams, the agents, the Brazilian Football Federation, etc. are all working in a harmonious way - facilitating, clearing red tape, and not putting up roadblocks to transfers. On the down side, the transparency of the market means there are few really hidden gems in Brazil. By contrast, the article said that Argentina is a complete and utter mess institutionally - and this goes a long way to explaining why there are so few Argentines currently in the Premier League (I count only two starters: McAllister and Martinez). The article says that the Premier League team that is capable of "unlocking the secret" of successfully navigating the bureaucracy there will reap huge benefits in terms of value for money. Hence, Argentina is a place where there are truly hidden gems to be found.

watching his highlights they are from all over the pitch, watching how he carries the ball he isn't bothered about where the pressure is coming from or where the space is, the game looks like it passes him in slow motion, how he adapts to pressure, even how/when he takes his shots, like last minute flicks after the keeper already commits, more than just a speed merchant wouldn't be surprised if this guy is considered the bigger talent by tim but we went for wesley due to the lower risk/price, but with the higher demands other options come into play i wouldn't be too worried about any of these signings landing, it's not like before where every club knew we had a target and no backup, tim is chasing profiles not names, he likely has a long list that he's working his way through as clubs get educated that west ham is no longer a club that'll get rinsed due to a lack of knowledge/options

I may be wrong but I think it was either a case of not offering Santos enough money (I'm pretty sure we had bids of around 12-15m rejected) or Neymar didn't want to join. I also believe that Zola was the manager at the time. I agree that WH should pay the asking price for at least one of these two players.

Whether he wanted Osman or not, if Sean Whetstone is to believed then Steidten recommended 11 players and Moyes didn't want any of them other than Phillips. Maybe that was the final nail in his coffin. I treat all of this with a pinch of salt though

Jota Silva should be our number one priority, He plays like Jack grealish at Villa just before the Man City move, as soon as Vitoria win possesion he's the man they look to pass to and creat something. He has the joint most goals per game in the league with Pedro Goncalves of porto (Highly rated expensive player) and just a few less assists, but when you consider the overall quality of porto's team I think Jota silva would replicate his numbers in a big 3 side. His natural position is on the left but can play anywhere across the front three and I just think he has everything you need to be a very very good player in the premier league. Will be absolutely gutted if we dont get him after researching him and catching a couple of his big games from this year

If Bruno Fabrizio wants 90k, I think we should give a contract offer of around 30-50K but with potential increases dependent on performance/ Games played. If he rocks up and isn't what we hope, then we aren't paying too much for a rotation option but if he plays and plays well, then he probably deserves that kinda ballpark of wage

Despite the pending household additions and the understandable financial concerns, I'm still not convinced the Bruno deal is over. Add 15-20k per month to allay the young couples' fears. I trust Steidten to turn this around. In reality, you ask someone to relocate their growing family halfway around the world for the same money they get at home. It makes no sense; it's amateurish.

Quite frankly I'm sick of this time of the season. Every day it's a new person we are linked with, have a bid in for, lose out to someone else or lose interest generally in certain players. We are all fed this line that Jlo wants players in before 1st July, yet Sullivan has form here. He ALWAYS gets players in late after pre season as he can't be arsed to pay early for them. The reality is most players contracts end June 30th, so outgoings and incomings won't start in earnest until July 1st. Until then we have to endure a slew of new players we want. This is no reflection on you guys, it's just the way the market is.
