Same! This was the one fight he really used his reach effectively. Wish he could have kept it up, but happy retirement nonetheless and I hope he can heal up his health issues

Me too! What a fight, he really used his reach so good. Nonetheless, he received too punches in his head and that was terrified to his health. I believe that he mustn't come back.

@Krz Low i think it was getting his jaw broken by mark hunt. some losses like that you cant recover from the same person. Where as a KO like this one, you can learn from and get better from. A hard loss like that can lead to permanent fear, a weak chin, severe concussion, etc..

Also him beating Big Nog was another notable win of his career and his performance vs Bigfoot Silva.

I feel like Struve doesnt utilize the amount of power and advantage he has over everyone else. Imagine him using his reach to the maximum he would be nearly unbeatable

you can see struve's opponents literally looking at him like worried he's gonna throw a head kick or something and then he hesitates and the other fighter is like well ok i guess i'll just hit him then- and down goes struve except for this fight obviously

He had a really bad tendency to stay on the cage and keep his chin high, which is why he would get caught so often.

​@B455PL4Y3R he clearly slips, he puts his keg out to stop himself falling and with the bend at the knee to push himself back up if anything shows his quads was still functioning. He was unfortunately the mat was wet/ bloody.

That was such an unfortunate slip but a great capitalize to put stipe away

Stipe just couldn’t figure out the timing within the exchanges… incredible fight

Miocic already exposes some of the same weaknesses that cost Struve later on as well. It's definitely partly due to his medical problems, but I see he's also just a bit slow and never really used his reach to the maximum potential. But he had heart, sick submissions and here he delivered an awesome performance against the greatest UFC heavyweight ever. I also followed a seminar of him in the Netherlands which was awesome. And his fight against Rothwell was a disgrace. Man did he get screwed over there that was frustrating to watch.

Stipe blocks a lot of shots with his face he payed the price for it here. Struve was too slow of a striker. I feel like it's pretty rare to be fast and really tall. Most of those gifted giants choose basketball for sport.
