He’s looking toward the percussionist for the cue to play the harmonic.

Paganini actually got in trouble for his music. Compared to other violin music of the era, his was so complex, expressive and emotional that people thought he was influenced by devils.

I understand now why Paganini was the most famous violinist in his times. Such music is not from this world, it's divine. And when you think Paganini didn't have an orchestra, was playing solo.

I also like to think of how vastly different his music is from his contemporaries. He lived in early romantic, and while everyone else was basically doing a bunch of lieder, he was just having a great time.

Stefan really makes his violin come alive and positively hop in his playing. Bet Paganini would have loved hearing his interpretation.

I agree. Stephen's technical prowess is exceptional! Paganini would have loved every second of this because he was a maniacal and egotistical genius lol. He was also a notable attention grabber and thrived on any sort of attention he received.

all my life i've listened to la capanella played on piano and loved it to bits, till a friend of mine told me that it was actually composed for the violin, I was like WHAT! ever since I've listened to the violin version my life has never been the same.

Tried listening on piano, and it's just not the same. Absolutely marvelous on violin according to my personal preference.

If the audience members had ever tried to play the violin for any length of time, they would've been standing on their feet with a resounding ovation for this performance. As the camera panned them at the end, it was obvious they had no real understanding of the insane work that Stefan had undertaken to perfect this (and any) performance ... for them.

I came here after listening to Hilary Hahn play a Paganini composition. Paganini seemed to be always offering a sadistic challenge for anyone to be able to play his creations.

This by far was the best rendition I have ever heard....BRAVO Stefan 🙏👏👏👏👏😍
