Steely Dan 2000-06-11 Albuquerque, NM | Remastered Full Concert

Музыка

I improved the audio quality of this audience recording from the 2000 tour. This show is unique in a couple of ways: it was the first ever show performed at the Mesa Del Sol Amphitheater, and it was the only time the band played Almost Gothic in a concert. As far as audience recordings go, this one is pretty high quality, but it's still just an audience recording, so expect some uneven sound and crowd noise at times, particularly toward the end of the show.

Untagged images are from sdarchive.com. There are a few shots of Bob Sheppard that are screengrabs from my video of the 2000 stop in Clarkston, MI as there weren't many photos available including Bob Sheppard. In fact, some pictures of the horn section include Chris Potter instead of Bob Sheppard as those shots were taken from the live DVD taping. Image of the amphitheater is from ticketmaster.com

Sorry for the long delay since my last remastered concert video. A few months ago I switched to a new project at work that left me pretty stressed out for a while. Thankfully things have calmed down since then and I've actually felt like getting back to my hobbies!

That Boston Rag intro is supremely brilliant. It seemed like SD at times wanted to update those earlier songs with their later sound/techniques to mixed results, but that rearrangement is such a great fusion. Wish they recorded it for a proper release.

Dan, as usual, Superb work!!!. I think Ted Baker's work on this tour, writing up the charts and preparing the little intro's and outro's to songs....his work is just remarkable. He did the same thing for the 2003 "EMG" tour and was just such a talent. RIP Ted.

Leave it to audio Doc Dan Belcher (certainly MY nominee for "El Supremo") to rescue the thirsty Steely Dan faithful from the dog days of summer with this great addition - and with "Almost Gothic," too!!

Really nice quality for audience taping and Boston Rag just way underplayed by them over the years. Saw them in ABQ in 2009 … nice venue .
