Steely Dan, is a musicians band. The music, is not simple.. it's full of twists, turns and tricky little details that can really surprise you. The best session musicians in the business played on their classic recordings. These players here are right there on that level, and they do it o the road, no simple task. I've played some of their more complex tunes in bands, and the shedding process, learning the tunes by heart, and playing them live with really good players- is worth all the time invested to learn this incredible music. This is a great recording. Thanks for uploading it!

Been to 3 steely dan shows in my life and each one of them was superior, talk about real musicians, all 3 concerts were different, different sets, they played big hits, hey nineteen, Josie, time out of mind, same songs but each time all different little riffs and twists and sounds, it’s just baffling to hear cause I’ve heard these songs my entire life and you hear it live and played just a little bit different then it was the time before and it’s a total different experience and sound, steely Dan is truly remarkable…rip Walter

Saw them in Aug. 2013 a mile down the hill from our home in Troutdale, Oregon and they opened the show with "Your Gold Teeth," followed by "Aja." That's when I first wondered if the bridge from the former inspired their 1977 magnum opus.

I saw SD at this same venue in 2003, the concert was originally scheduled on the day of the massive blackout that shut things down for a couple of days, it was rescheduled for the fall. I have to say the sound on this recording is so much better than when I saw them, I was really disappointed. This amphitheatre is an awful venue, made of concrete, glass and steel, the sound bounces around and gets so muddy, it was much better when it was known as "The Forum" with its circular rotating stage... I'm really dating myself here, but those who remember will know. I did think meticulous SD sound people would be able to deal with it, but sadly not. Guess a live soundboard recording can fix any sound issues.

I saw this performance. Seen Steely Dan several times throughout the years. Always compared it to this one, just magical. Saw many concerts at "The Forum" Chuck Mangione was my favorite. Wish it was still there. Those were the days! Unfortunately, I was pretty young at the time and always envied my older counterparts who had attended the forum far more many times than me.

That intro tells you: This band are no three-chord rockers. They are serious players, and they can outplay Becker and Fagen six ways to Tuesday - which is exactly why B+F hired them.
