Rewatching the video, looks like I got my timeline slightly wrong. 😅 I said I turned off the following dragons for the screenshots. I know I did that for the video, but actually, in many of the screenshots, the following dragons are still visible. For the screenshots where they are not visible, it's possible I killed them off rather than turned them off in the options menu - I'm genuinely not sure if I added that options setting before the screenshots. I definitely added the option before the trailer which is why most (though not all) videos in the trailer only feature one character.
This was actually a nice watch. I liked hearing about your thoughts as you were developing the game.
Looking good i love the colorful art style & the trailer looks very lovely too you did a very excellent job i look forward to seeing more of this game & GN or Good day To You
I'm excited to see where your gamedev journey takes you
First time seeing this game. What stood out to me the most were the character sprites and animations. Very lively and high momentum given the low resolution and palette size.

Thanks! Right before beginning this time (I've been making and remaking this game for a while...), I'd watched some animation videos and one of the things that stood out to me most was squash and stretch - I think that technique in particular added a lot of life for me.
Awesome trailer. Thank you for all of your insight
"There isn't enough room for two game designers!" "Oh your a Game designer alright, but not a Cool one" "Yeah, what's the difference?" "PRESENTATION"
Awesome job with the Steam page and trailer, looks professional! I really need to update mine... I put it all together quickly heh

Thanks so much! I saw you were named "Hot Worlds Game Dev" so I went back to your channel - your game looks really cool too! I like all the fashionable costumes and your description of the arcade mode has me intrigued.
Nice work!
Keep up the good work! This gives me some motivation to start my game.

I hope you do! But like every developer says, start as small as you can. Finishing is the most important thing for a first game - much more important than publishing. Oh, and let me know what you make! I'd love to try it if it's in browser or on Steam. I unfortunately don't have a laptop where I can risk downloading games from itch.io at the moment (a virus on anything I own would be really bad), which I know is hypocritical given how much I put on itch.io. But if it's a browser game or if I eventually get a cheap, unconnected laptop, I'll give your game a try!
Love the insight, I actually learned some things
👍
There's a very famous candy bar here in Sweden called kexchoklad. The banner kinda reminds me of those 🤔

Oh interesting! Having Googled, I see what you mean. I was really just trying to do a yellow/gold background to contrast the character colors, and then the red-purple looked good with the yellow.

@@someuser4166 Oh, no worries! I love the comparison! I thought you might want to know where it came from but I love the idea that the game looks like a candy bar - it's kinda meant to feel like a candy bar - like shorter junkier food eaten/played for a quick fix rather than a proper weighty meal.
Hi there, I'm Michael! This game looks pretty sweet! I had no idea there were so many different images you had to make for a Steam release! I like the trailer, and I like how the scrolling GIF with the different game locations loops. You've definitely put in a ton of effort. SELF-PROMOTION TIME: If the game's releasing soon on Steam, I can safely assume you already have music for it. But if you're looking for music for a future game, I'm a video game composer. If you're interested, I'd love to chat!

Hey Michael! Thanks for reaching out! Music is actually the thing I struggle the most with, but for this game, I've been working with my friend Jake who has an extensive music background. I think it's likely he and I will be working together on future projects, but if I'm ever working on a project that doesn't interest him, I'll keep you in mind!
This was a great watch, cheers!
PLEASE give the players a desaturation option
to be honest the game doesn't look appealing to me

That's ok! It's possible it wouldn't appeal to you. If it doesn't appeal and doesn't look appealing, then we're fine. If it would appeal but doesn't look appealing, then I've messed up.
