Adding keys from a Google search and adding them to the text file worked for me. Thanks for the video

Ok cool

For all of you who still have this problem, you need to paste the key file in the CEMU directory, to enter that folder click or tap on the CEMU file option, click open the Cemu folder there, you can paste the keys file and then restart the application. That should solve the problem.

Thank you! This helped a lot. For anyone still needing help I opened Cemu in desktop mode by going into the launcher folder. When that's open click file and open Cemu folder, in there it had my keys.txt file. Copy and paste your codes and close the launcher and re open. Brill video thank you!

@@xin0555 ok , I didn't see the keys, but will look again. Question though, it's probably not Wii U BOTW rev 2? The only rom I can find is REV 2, but the only keys I can find are REV 1 so it's a mismatch. Sigh... I have it running 30 FPS on YUZU for switch, and have all DLC and updates, so that will have to work. The FPS++ mod to get 45 FPS on CEMU would be awesome though

@@GregAndrews03 I would think you would have to set your controller to the Wii U Gamepad and see if you can config the gyro with the Steam Deck. I haven't done it myself, but I am sure there is a video on it. Hope that helped.

Thank you for showing me where to put all the files! Keep in mind that there are also different keys for file type as well as region. A NUS key will be different from a WUD/WUX key!

I found yoshi wiiu usa keys for wux added them where you said but only got a grey screen when executed cemu. Screen says cemuand version at top and under on left has file, options, tools, cpu, nfc, debug, help. Next line on left has icon, and game. Center it has version, dlc, you’ve played, last played, region. As this is my first time doing this and first game which is not working it is blank.

Quick question, I have Zelda BOTW, however it is an all in one with dlc and in a .wux file. After getting the key working, I get "you need to perform a system update ", how can I update a .wux file? thx

I think you have to get the update file for the Cemu itself. I am not quite sure how to do that, because I haven't tried but I am sure if you look up "How to update BOTW for Cemu" You will find your answer. Thanks for watching!

Are all the KEYS for WUX formatted games? For example - I have super Mario 3D World (USA), but when I check the keys, there are two options: (1) 3cec63f6c87d47ae13768d9542f9e979 # Super Mario 3D World [USA, NUS] & (2) e23aea154f1428156d25bfcc40f63856 # Super Mario 3D World [USA, WUD. So which one to use? Both say USA while one is NUS and the other is WUD. I do not see any WUX! Also, your video shows the "keys.txt" placed in the Wii U folder. Do we simply place the entire keys.txt file there or just the one applicable to the game. Please elaborate, thanks!

All you have to do is open the "Keys" file. It will open in a notepad-type file and then paste the full key file on its own line. The lines are numbered, and you can paste both keys in there. As long as you have one Key that works it doesn't matter how many you have there. Hope that helped thanks for watching!

In the parser section, be sure to check Cemu(wux, wud files). You only need to use the WUD key.

It is but you would have to change the file directory in the Steam Rom Manager. I am not sure if you can have it look in two spots at once. You might just have to change it every time you want to switch. Thanks for watching!

Great video and amazing details! I tried to get the key for hyrule warriors and I found 2 different keys and neither one of them seems to get the game to pop up in the cemu Launcher tool, any suggestions?

The only think I can say is just keep looking for the key. I had to search to get Xenoblade X key but I found it eventually on a reddit post. Jut make sure you have the region matches the the key. And you might want to try find a RPX file for the game. If you find that you don't need a key. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Any tips or tricks on how to get the Wii U games to work on batocera ? I have batocera installed on an SD card and my other Wii U Rom (Wind Waker HD) opens and runs just fine. Trying to do the same for Twilight Princess HD and it doesn’t work.

You might not have the right keys in there. I would recommend searching for the Keys for ever region and pasting them in the key file. As long as you have the right one in there it should work. Hope that helps thanks for watching!

I have the keys, the games in a roms folder, but when I open cemu they don't show the games and when I try to start the game it tells me that it can't. I don't know if I have skipped a step or Im missing a file

Make sure you have the right keys. The keys are region specific, and a lot of sites might have keys that don't work. I would recommend seeing if you can find another key some where and try that. Hope that helps thanks for watching!

When I execute cemu my game opens to title and start button glows but you can’t click it. It just sits there playing music. I don’t know if it is a pathway problem or wrong key. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

when getting to the key portion I have no key in primary emulation roms wiiu then no key. I used Wudd to dump my wiiu game from the disc to sd then to pc then usb to primary micro sd unmount and open. Not sure what I did wrong.Any help would be appreciated.

Cemu only reads WUX and RXP files if your game files aren't that I don't think Cemu will read them. And If you have them as a WUX you will need the key. Hope that helps good luck and thanks for watching!

Honestly I am not sure I have never run into this problem before. I am not an expert on emulation I really just figured out how to get Cemu game running and made this video. If it was me I would try installing and starting fresh. Try using "Emu Deck" It is a program that does most of the installing and set put for you. Hope that helps and thanks for watching. Good luck.

If you google "Name of the game rom" you should find it. You might have to navigate through a sketchy website, but if you have an ad blocker, you should be fine. Also, you might be downloading a zip file that you can use Winrar or 7 Zip to extract. Thanks for watching.

I used the PS3 emulator to play it. I will be honest it is a little glitchy but I think it is playable. I don't have a video for it but if you look up "How to set up "RPCS3 Set up Steam Deck" you should be able to find something. Thanks for watching and hope that helps.

So in the Steam Rom Manager there is a list of emulators with switches next to them. You have to make sure the very first oe that says "Parsers" is clicked on, then you can click the rest on. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

@@banafighta You have to tick the Parser the also tick on the 2 Wii U emulators too. But if you are doing that and it is still not working you might want to uninstall and re install emudeck.

I couldn't find the right keys for WW HD but if you look up RPX file type you don't need keys for that type. I found a WW HD file like that and all you need to do is put that file in the roms folder with your games. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

I have downloaded a rom data for Windwaker and it is an WUX file and it looks exactly like your files : xenoblade sonic boom etc.. And I have moved into the Wii U Roms file but cemu does not find the game at all even through Install game title.. Is there a specific way how to unpack the files? When I download it it's a zip file and then I unpack it put it into my usb drive and then into my Steamdeck (to the Wii U roms file). Also do WUD Keys work on WUX roms? If anybody can help me I would really appreciate that ^^

Try looking up "Wind Waker HD RPX file" That file type you just extract it and place the folder you get into the roms folder. You don't need keys or anything for that file type. Hope that helps thanks for watching!

I have done everything in this video. I even put every key i could find for Xenoblade in there and CEMU still will not recognize any games. Always says it cant find the keys. Im about to give up.

I would say make sure you are pasting the keys in the key file on their own line. Spacing matters so if one thing is off it won't work. I know I got Xenoblade X working on my device so if you have everything set up right it should work.I wish you luck and thanks for watching!

I would recommend pasting all the region keys for the game in the Key file. Also check spacing if there an extra or no space between the keys you paste in that would cause them to not work. Hope that helps thanks for watching!

dont have keys file in dare?

Strange. I did everything correctly and the game still won't run. I found the key for the game I am trying to play and made sure its in the right folder and the emulator still refuses to play at all.

You might need to find different keys and check that the keys are pasted in the key file on their own line with the correct spacing. If all else fails try finding the RPX file for the game. Hope that helps thanks for watching!

On my Wii u files I don’t have a key file what do I do?

Try loading a game one time and I think after that Cemu will create the key file for you. If not just make a text file called "Keys" and that should work too. Hope that helps thanks for watching!

Great video... except while the games are loading in the emulator; I can't get them to run through Gaming Mode... I don't know what I am doing wrong =( Was hoping to find the answer here.

It sounds like an issue with Emudeck and the Steam Rom Manager. I cover that part at 16:20 in the video. Some tips 1. Make sure the rom directory is set to the correct folder in the Steam Rom Mannager. 2. There are two Wii U emulator tabs in the Rom Manager make sure they are both checked on. 3. And when you update the rom manager to add games, make sure you wait until you see a message that says it is finished. It might take a second for it to come up. 4. If all deals fail you can always try to uninstall and reinstall Emudeck and try again. Hope that helps.Good luck thanks for watching!

​@xin0555 Yeah, when I attempt to run a .wux title (Twlight Princess) from my Micro SD card; it gives me this: Unable to launch game Path: Z:/run, etc. etc. Title name (.wux) I do have the correct title key. It was previously working when a friend did everything for me, but I made some mistakes and had to do everything again on my own (want to actually). This is where I am struggling though however. Everything, including ROMs, Emudeck files, etc. is on the Steam Deck. I have almost all the other emulators I want working doing except these games on CEMU. I have 2 (.rpx) games working through SteamOS.

@@kyleb7047 It is hard for me to say when I can't actually look at it. It sounds like you installed emudeck on the Steam Deck it self, so I would try putting the Wii U roms on the deck itself rather then the SD card. I'll be honest I am not expert on this so my knowledge is very limited. Also make sure there are no extra spaces in the Key codes. That happened to me once.

I am not sure I don't have you steam deck Infront of me so I can't really say. You need to have Cemu work in order to follow the tutorial. Once you install emudeck it should set up the emulators for you, but you can always try manually installing the Cemu emulator. That might help. Thanks for watching!

Non of the files will populate in the launcher window. Xeno X shows in emulation wii u but won't boot

My breath of the wild still doesn’t work “there is no windows program configured to open this type of file” im guessing that’s something with proton right?

I am not sure I don't have windows running on my steam deck. If you used Emudeck to install the emulators everything should be set up for you. Hope that helped. Thanks for watching!

@@xin0555 yeah the thing is im not on windows, im on steam os and ive set up emudeck and downloaded the breath of the wild rom. I put the the breath of the wild rom in cemu and got the keys just like this video and it still wont show up in my cemu idk whats wrong and how to fix it.. This goes for my Ps3 emulator too, i downloaded a rom and added to the ps3 rom folder and i started the emulator and it wont show up still.

@@Yamari__ For PS3 you have to get the firmware update first then the emulator will work. For BotW you need to install the update and DLC files in order to play it. I actually just made a video on how ti do that. You might want to consider uninstalling emudeck and reinstalling it.

Make sure the key is the right region, also make sure that there are no extra spaces between the key, and you might need to find another key. Hope that helps.

The .sh is the emulator itself. So it should be Cemu.sh when you double click it should open and run the emulator. If it is not opening for you you have to uninstall and reinstall Emudeck. Thanks for watching.

You might have to check you have the right keys, and make sure they are on there own line. It is region locked so make sure they match up. Hope that helps. thanks for watching!

@@bigboiahah2 For Raymen I think that game might not be compatible with the pro controller. So in the Controler Congfig, you might have to map it to the Wii U gamepad.

You should just be able to save it in the pause menu. If you are talking about save states I am actually not sure I haven't needed to use them :) I hope that helps thanks for watching.

@@shinobihunter3312 I could it would take me a hot minute, but when you pause the game there are two menus. the main one then there is an arrow on the far right that swaps to the second one. On the second menu, it gives you the option to save. If you are still having trouble I can make a video.
